2013 MLP Fair in Indianapolis hotel info is up!

I'm excited to attend my first pony fair, but oh gosh, it is SUPER intimidating going into this alone & not knowing anyone. Must...conquer...fear! :super:

But you will know people! Just go and wear a badge that says "Milky-MLPTP". Then people will recognize you. When I went to the fair a few years ago, lots of TP members had badges with their screen name on them. :)

I so wish I could go. If I am spending money to travel that far, I should do it to go see one of my parents. lol

im working on it ....

im so checking out cheep flights and seeing what the finances are like

i just booked my room :)

Woohooo it is funny because the location is farther from me but the hotel will cost me less then when i went to Rhode island LOL

don't think i will have a table this year because i will be coming by airplane and i will need the luggage space to bring the stuff back i by there .

not to mention i will be flying for the first time......

Maybe the hotel will allow packages. I used to attend Barbie Convention & people would ship items to sell to the hotel in huge boxes, then ship their clothes back in those boxes while new purchases went into luggage. They may not accept boxes, but if they do, it might be something to consider for those wanting to host a sales table :)

I'm actually suprised at how 'cheap' the rooms are this year. They're usually over $100, but the $89 rooms are feesable. Too bad I probably won't be able to go this year, I've got some major house remodeling to do this summer :( But we'll see if I can finangle it.

I know, right?! $89 is crazy cheap. I pay more than that for a crap hotel (in nowhere Oklahoma) when I have to travel for work! Apparently, this hotel has some restaurants nearby, too.

free self-parking, too! but internet in room costs $10 per day. Still in all, not bad!

I was surprised about the internet fee. Worse hotels than this place have it for free, but maybe it's in the lobby? I'd hate to have to refuse Paypal sales just because there's no wifi for my tablet, you know?

Pretty sure they have it in some central place like the lobby. Poke around the hotel's website; I'm pretty sure I saw it somewhere. We're coughing up the extra $10 per day, though, since DB will probably spend a lot of time in the room. There are lots of hotels that make you pay for access in your room--most Often, in my experience, it's the high priced hotels. :-/

At this one, the "club level" rooms include wifi, but I decided the higher price ($134 for two people, so basically $17.50 per person above the regular room plus wifi) isn't worth the free water, continental breakfast and iffy aftnoon snacks. I called them; the only hot foods for breakfast are eggs and oatmeal, the rest is pastries. The afternoon snacks vary from day to day, but it's not as though there's a huge selection. I'd rather make free coffee in the room (think I saw there's something in the rooms to make coffee) and have some bagels and fruit on hand. :p

Hi ^_^
I just wonder if the rooms will sell out fast, I get my salery the 21th of dec and Im really nervous they are all gonna get booked, Im currelty applying for a visa aswell.

Just popping in to let you know that if you have any questions feel free to pm me or post them here and I'll get you answers.

I just returned from vacation so now I'm in Fair planning mode. :)

Also FYI we are working on a possible optional Friday night event/dinner at the hotel. We can't release details yet, but I wanted to let you know about the possibility while you are making travel arrangements.

according to the thread going on the Arena, 43%of the rooms set aside for the Fair are taken already. yikes!

Now it's at 59%! I think there's going to be a big crowd again this year!

Do you miss out on things if you don't stay in the hotel where the convention is being held? I've never been to one, and I'm pretty nervous to go to this one... and we have family in Indy, were thinking about saving money (more money for ponies) by staying with them, but if it's like... a thing and there's something we might miss by not staying at the hotel... then I'd like to know so I can book a room... :D

hi

im no expert but i know there is a hotel keycard with a pony logo on it that you can only get by staying at the hotel.

apart from that im not sure

personally if i could stay with someone to save the hotel fees i would do it and spend the money on ponies

Thank you so much for posting this. I missed out on the hotel rate last year, but I just booked my room for Indianapolis! 9 hour road trip! Good times :)

Now to watch for fair tickets to go on sale...
