A coworker just IMed me.

Coworker (CW): "I'm doomed"
PT: "What???"
CW : "They're watching My Little Pony again. I'm so doomed."
PT: "OMG so cute!"
CW: "All this time I've stayed blissfully ignorant. You were the only one talking crazy ponies in my life. Now it's in my home"
CW: "My daughters discovered MLP last weekend. Now it's ALL THEY WATCH."
PT: "AWESOME!"
CW: "Over and over. It never stops"
PT: "Do they have any of the toy ponies?"
CW: "No pony toys yet"
PT: "YET"
CW: "Ok, gotta go cook dinner. Need to have it done before the show is over, lest they want to watch it again."

I thought that was awesome... and... y'all know what's up next... I will be bringing 2 or 3 ponies for them to work tomorrow :)

Aww that's so sweet! Your coworker may run away when they see the ponies you bring in LOL

bwahaha

I do kinda feel bad though.. I know how horrifying it gets when kids find a favorite movie and watch it a billion times before they're 10. lol. The future of pony collecting is upon them.

Awesome story!

Also, I loved watching my favorite movies over and over, and I still do :)

Haha! That was funny! Awesome, good to see!

I don't see what's so bad about watching a movie over and over.... I use to do it as a kid. I knew how to work the VCR better than either of my parents too!

And yeah, I'll probably be a terrible parent when I say the TV is a great babysitter when you are trying to cook dinner. If the kids are happy, why not?

.......Then again, I like cartoons myself so maybe I'm just biased. XD

I don't think TV alone is harmful to kids. Only thing that I think could be harmful is the CONTENT of what they watch, and so if theyre watching MLP all the time, then AWESOME! :)

Same here, if I'm trying to cook dinner or get some housework done...sure kids, go watch MLP for the thousandth time!

But, that's true; the content is good so I don't mind.

How nice of you to bring ponies to them, PT. I'm sure you're coworker will LOVE it!!

Watching same movie over and over:
-as the one watching it i got nothing againast it. it's a great good time!
-as the one who's watching the kid....ugh! i'm sick of TLM because my cousin (was 5 at the time i was her "nanny" ) drove me nuts watching that at every turn she could...course she also asked a milion questions that she kneew the answers to while watching it but yeah...

TV is a babysitter:
-heck yeah! that's how me and my 3 sibs got along. tv was great! before i was 5 i'd watch barney :shivers: and robocop back to back and i turned out great! i also watched return to oz...and that lead to barbie head swapping but hey that's notthng big. then when i was older and had the 3 younger sibs we watched power rangers and stuff all the time and that's how we learned right from wrong. tv was great back then! now...well it sucks.
-my aunt and uncle (who's daughter i was the "nanny" to) don't really think that way...and i was really chastized for letting her watch too much *coughanycough* tv, but then again they're both politicalish and are stric...and that's why i don't live with them anymore ^^; thatand there's NO WAY i'd have ANY ponys down there....scarey thought...

but yeah. tv is good. watching the same thing a gazilion times....well it depends how annoying you get with it ^^;

Oh no, but those poor children will grow up to be fans of the chibi ponies! LOLLLLLLLLLLL (unless of course you are bringing them the generation that looks like ponies...)

Oh, I don't plan on those chibi's. My kid's getting "real" ponies!

I asked him which movie it was and he said he didn't know the name, but it was "Rainbow Something or other..." so hopefully not the chibi ones.

I did bring them 3 G3 ponies (old school). Cotton Candy, Rainbow Flash, and Juniper Jade. I thought those colors would be OK for them and a nice variation of jewels, long hair, and normal pony. I'm sure his girls will love them! (they're 3 and 5).

It sounds like maybe it was "Runaway Rainbow," the movie with Rarity in it. I wonder if the kids would be interested in toys of the major characters in that movie, like Rarity and Rainbow Dash.

I wish my niece would sit in front of the TV, watch MLPs and shut up, but she wouldn't sit still :( And she likes to pick the expensive ponies to play with and tell me they're beautiful. Examples are NSS Gusty, NBBE Baby Gusty, Baby Buttons, my $20 MO cartoon eyes Spike...etc. She's got expensive taste I'd say!
