Hello, everypony! :smilepony:

I actually like movies & series of the whole My Little Pony era, but in this thread I want to focus on those publication prior to release of most recent series "Friendship Is Magic".
There's a special project I've started about two weeks ago in another MLP forum which is called "My Little Pony Arena" - MLP Arena. I want to get the transcript of each of the older movies & specials of earlier MLP era. It's allow every non-native English speaker - which includes myself - to get every detail of the plot and know name of every pony. :)

I setup a prive FTP- and HTTP server (both on my own laptop at home), which allows you to get all transcripts I collected until now.

There's a disclaimer text which informs about non-profit type of this work. Furthermore, another document called 'Authors and owners of transcripts' provides information about current state of the project as well as information about the authors of transcripts. This also includes their website, if available. I'll update it as fast as possible if anything changes.
Each transcript gets provided as Word document (which can also be opened easily with open-source office software) and PDF file. In addition, you'll find an Excel table listing all My Little Pony movie stuff ever released since first short movie 'Escape from Catrina'. It's my aim to reach full availability of transcripts for every relevant 'My Little Pony' film prior to current series 'Friendship is Magic' as subtitles are available here.

Thanks in advance for any helpful answer. If this request should be problematic according to the board's rules, it's also no problem to accept that.


P.S.: I know that it's very time consuming to write transcripts in the same style as they get provided on the server. But I'd be very pleased if some ponies living here could participate in this project! :helpsmilie:

Transcript helper needed

Hmm, it's kinda strange that anypony here in really interested in the earlier age of My Little Pony movies. :sadpony:

I don't know where to look for someone who could help me with my transcripts project. Please just tell me another place for getting in contact with a fan of movies of Generation 1 to Generation 3. I'm already member of the forums MLPArena and UKOfEquestria and I also started this project there...

I'm pleased for any response.
 
I'd love to help when I finish this class semester.... I love my G1's, but as long as someone has the movie someplace accessible, I'll be happy to help with anything.

Are you looking for someone to assist with English transcripts? Because I don't know any other language fluently.
 
Ahh, I love the 80s MLP videos and episodes! If you need any help, I can start in January (I'll be graduated from university by then!). Sadly, I can only do English transcripts. Great idea, and good luck in your endeavours!

Yeah, it's my project's aim to get English transcripts for every movie & special produced prior to Generation 4 (Friendship is Magic). Just take a short look at the project's data which you can access via HTTP and FTP using these links:

The file "Authors and owners of transcripts" tells you which transcripts are still missing. Furthermore, you can see how transcripts are formatted - which is quite simple.
As I'm a non-native English speaker I'm interested in getting the transcripts as using them I'll get every detail of the plot! :satisfied:

You don't have to stress you - all I want is to hear that someone likes to support my time-consuming requests. I doesn't really matter when to start as there's no time limit.

Overview over all films & series ever released

... and concerning your question about the movie, MLPMommy4Life:
I own every film released since start of My Little Pony era in English (as most older films didn't get released in any other language and I like watching films in their original language). If you want, I can provide the movie for you...
To get a quick overview over all film material published, look at the files "My Little Pony - All film material released - Series" and "My Little Pony - All film material released - Specials & Movies". They contain just a simple table naming each episode / (short)movie.

That's what I want to hear - it's very kind or you, to offer me your help :satisfied:
As I'm a German, I need no transcripts as for this language. :LOL:.
But concerning English, I only understand about 80% of what the ponies are saying in an episode of a series resp. a short movie. Corresponding transcripts help me to get all details. Providing transcripts of every episode / short movie helps other people, too, as I think I'm not the only one who doesn't understand every single word...

If you can't get a video which you want to transcribe, send me a PM and we'll find a way to solve this problem.

I didn't write any post here because I had a hospital stay of 10 days and multiple day-to-day duties to do afterwards.
Luckily, during days I spent in hospital I could invest some spare time in the transcripts project. Besides some minor layout and error corrections of existing transcripts, I was able to write three new ones to the extend permitted by my english skills. Another limit is my quite little expecience in seperating ponies of the first generation as there are many of them. However, all transcipts belong to this generation because it contains most gaps. Here are the file names (you can also check the project status document 'Authors and owners of transcripts'):

Episode 15 - The Great Rainbow Caper
Episode 40 - Would Be Dragonslayer
Episode 47 & 48 - Through the Door (actually, second part is not complete, yet)

As concerning all transcripts I wrote, missing parts and ambiguous sections are written in red.

Feel free to download these new transcripts (as well as any other file) from my FTP server or HTTP server via URLs visible in my signature. As said before, some transcripts got slightly optimized - you can identify them by the modification date...
I'm grateful for anyone who helps me continue this time-consuming project by completing incomplete transcripts or even prepare missing ones. Just look into project status document to inform yourself about gaps. Feel free to ask me for material required to compose an inexistent transcript or perfect an incomplete one.

Last weekend I created a new document which contains a guideline how to write transcripts. You can find it in the main directory of both servers - it's called "Guideline for transcripting".
Just choose a movie / series episode for which no transcript exists, yet, look in the guideline and start writing. :winkpony:

Well, but I have to say that transcripts for the episodes which belong to story "Return to Tambelon" and "Bright Lights" get already written by other supportes so don't choose them.

There's absolutely no need to hurry - every kind of help is appreciated!

Update of transcripts

Hello everypony!

The project is making progress, driven by 'Carrehz' from forum 'MLPArena': She provides an update for these two trancripts
Series Generation 1, Season 1, Episode 35 - Mish Mash Melee
Series Generation 1, Season 3, Episode 03 - Battle of the Bands

As all documents are free, just download the new files from the servers mentioned in my signature.
I hope that somebody else will support this project by writing / updating a transcript - partial works are very welcome, too
Feel free to participate at any time - the document 'Guideline for transcription' (also available on the servers) will make it easy to start writing high-quality transcripts! :smilepony:
