AAAAGH pen marks!!!

I bought some ponies at a bootsale this morning. Unfortunatley Birthday Pony is covered in bright pink pen marks - I didn't think it was too bad at first and that it would come off easy but I have scrubbed and used acetone (being very careful of her marks) and it hasn't made the slightest difference :( Can't really use sunfade on her, is there anything else I can do? Apart from the marks she's far to pretty to be bait!
 
paint over the marks? That's what I'm going to do with my cancer attacked Bright eyes..
 
I don't think thats an option - some of the marks are too close to her cutie marks :(
 
well is there anyway to incooperate the marks into her patterning? i know she's covered in confetti like patterning, so is there a way to create a mimicing pattern with the pen marks?

Someone's coloured in the middle of her ears and her nostrils, drawn goggles around her eyes, massive blob on the front of her face, lines down one leg and spots on the other, looks like a pen has leaked over the hock on one front foot and there is a huge patch of scribble in the middle of her back, and loads of smaller marks everywhere. All the marks go through several cutie marks. Its a shame cos she still has all the sparkly bits in her mane and tail (although she has a teeny bit of rust) I think she's going to end up as bait as all the pen goes over so many marks its probably not going to be possible to clean her up :(
 
Ouch!

I just got a Christmas Baby pony in an Ebay lot with the same problem. I haven't tried much yet. But if I come across something that works, I'll post it and let you know. I was hoping Acetone would work, but given what you wrote it looks like my hope will be in vain.

I got my OH to have alook (he's into models and paint removel etc etc) he says she is bait :( He thinks the pen marks have saturated into the plastic so there is no way of removing it. I will leave her in my bait box for hte moment and hope that something one day will turn up that gets rid of the pen marks!
 
i have heard "remove-zit" works. its NOT an acne cream. its a speciaal product used in teh doll world to remove peen and stuff. never used it but im sure you can find it online
i think i will post another thread to see if its worth buying :)
 
I'd probably try sunfading first. I saw someone here was very clever and used painter's tape to cover the painted symbols. You can cut it out the shape, pop her in a window, and forget about it.

I would hate to see her tossed just because of marks. If you don't feel confident trying to save her by yourself, drop me a PM and maybe I can help you. I've cleaned up some member's ponies before, and I'm always willing to take in a few more to my pony hospital. ;)
 
We've had a closer look and the pen marks have leached into the body but I'm determined to try and do everything to get this pony clean before I do say she is bait...I will have a look re the 'remove'Zit' and am meaning to have a go with a few other cleaning products. Sunfade probably not an option as we just don't get enough of it here as well as the complications with the pen marks going over the top of the symbols - even if the pen did fade from the body she would still have very stripey symbols.
