My Auntie recently gave me this beauty.

Anyway, I would like to give her a new one but I am not sure as to what is the best way to go about doing it. I would welcome any and all advice (even just for her general cleanup - she was hanging out in Value Village and is not the cleanest). Thanks folks! Apologies if the photos did not show.
 
Thank you, this is good information to know. I certainly am glad it is her tail that is gone rather than her mane -seems much easier to replace.

Finding the hair is going to be difficult. I have no baits and even the fakies I have do not have hair anywhere close to purple. (Is using fakie hair acceptable if i can find a donor with suitable colour?) Buying online is not really an option at this point. I'm wondering would any craft stores in a city carry synthetic hair? Is that even a plausible option? Sorry for all the questions
 
Cleaning her up you can use a magic eraser, just be careful of rubbing too hard over painted areas. You can find them in supermarkets ect.
For rehairing, you could rehair her tail with anything and leave it removeable, so later on you could get the suitable colour and rehair her properly. Using anything is acceptable, she's your pony! Fakie hair is just generally worse quality than pony hair, but if you just want her for display then that shouldn't be an issue! I'm not too sure if craft stores would hold synthetic hair, but you could have a look. I hope this helps c:
 
What I do is look for a bait of the same pony that has bad damage but a nice tail. I use the tail in my good pony. This is because I like my ponies to have vintage original hair. Even if I replace a plug its from a 1980s pony donor.
 
I found some purple Halloween hair at the local dollar store... I think I'll try use that for now (not sure how yet) and hopefully find something more suitable in the future? If I ever get the chance, it would be nice to order some dollyhair and give her a tail in the right colour, and maybe even Sparkler too (I have not been able to defrizz it no matter what I tried). I was looking online the other day and I thought I saw an article that dollyhair was no longer in business though? It was really confusing so I might be wrong...?

Nope they're still in business. I order from them now and then
