My mother and my sister kept hearing a strange noise which they said sounded like a child singing or talking, but they couldn't quite make out the words. They would check that the television etc. were not quietly on in the background, but couldn't figure out where it was from.
Finally I heard the voice just as I was alone in the lounge having closed my laptop to put it away (I have a dreadful habit of putting it to sleep rather than turning it off properly) and it seemed to be coming from the machine itself! So that was vaguely terrifying.
We've stopped hearing the voice since I stopped using my laptop and started using a tablet (It has now come out of retirement so that I can post photos etc., but I am making a point of turning it off properly when I am finished using it)
At one point, and I cannot remember during what part of the timeline this occurred, I tripped over my charger cord, causing the laptop to fall off my dresser and land on its top left corner. I pressed the frame of the screen back together and it turned on, but about 2 square centimetres of the screen in the corner had gone completely black, including where the <- navigation arrow should be. However, in the next two days the dark area seemed to have gotten smaller, and within two weeks the screen was completely healed. I looked it up but all I could find was explanations of why laptops cannot recover fully after undergoing such damage ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
