So I avidly search around Ebay/ Facebook marketplace for new lots and one thing I've noticed is allot of people are getting rid of their Beddy Bye Eyes.
They are the most common G1s I've seen listed.

So I am starting to wonder if they are just becoming unpopular.
I know I'm unsure about them because I know of the known rust issues in their eye mechanisms. Plus the ones I see always look in such rough condition.
I wonder if their deterioration is why they are getting listed up so much.

They seem super prolific. Maybe they were just one of the more popular lines? They were also released pretty early on which helps. I actually find them cuter than the regular baby ponies but maybe I’m just twisted

I think most people just find them ugly and don't want them. They aren't exactly cute and attractive looking. Also like you said, rust is also a factor and its hard to clean them so they just sell.

I love them though :D They were my first completed set
I can agree with that, the eye spacing in the socket comes off a little creepy and unsettling.

They have their fans but they've never been a popular set to my knowledge. Many people find their eyes creepy and their moulds unpleasant. I have one and that's all I care to have. Frosting is kinda cute in person.

Baby frosting is the only one I have too and I don’t plan on getting anymore lol, in person if you look at her straight from the front she’s kinda cute but if I got any others in a lot or something they’d definitely go up for sale

Horror Shoots!

They're definitely not for me. I've always called them "Eye-infection Ponies" and decided I wouldn't get any so that the infections don't spread!

It annoys me that some of the babies don't come with the typical beautiful pony eyes but only in "eye-infection" form. And I've always wanted a NBBE Baby Frosting (among others).

I’m not a fan of the BBE ponies either. They kind of creep me out and I’ve never been that much a fan much of BBE but it’ll depend what it’s actually on. Maybe if I found one in person I may reconsider, I don’t know though.

One of the baby ponies I’ve wanted for ages is Baby Gusty but not the BBE for two or three reaons
1: I don’t like the BBE version
2: I like UK ponies because they’re where I live and it feels like if I was around back then, I could have got her in the shops, NBBE Baby Gusty is UK
3: I need to reunite NBBE UK Gusty with her mummy.

I've seen some people take the eyes out and sculpt them normal eyes. I've seen (and once commissioned for my daughter) Twinkle Eye Babies.

Anywho, here is a cute photo of my baby Frosting.
