Hank wanted me to share this because he is too lazy to type it. Shame on him. And me all diseased and such. Anyhoooo...

We were coming home from town last night, Hank was driving. We were going down the old lake road through the Caddo National Grasslands, which butts up to the back of our land. Now you think of grasslands as wide fields of lovely grass and flowers, but there are towering trees of both sides of the road, making it even darker than it ready was. As we passed by a driveway that led to a gate into a restricted area of the land (foot traffic only, no vehicles) we were stunned to see a large man in thick camo coveralls, and a heavy, puffy camo coat, clutching his chest. We had three friends with us, two of whom also saw the man. The third wasn't looking in that direction. I told Hank we had to turn around and check because he seemed in distress and he was far from any house. We quickly returned to the spot and he was no where to be seen.

We decided to go on home, even though we looked for him the whole way, joking that he was a ghost, but the entire thing was very unsettling. Mainly because we realized, while we could describe what he was wearing and the fact he was oddly clutching his chest, not one of us saw his face. It was just a darkened patch of nothing.

I admit, we even went back out to look again, hours later, but there's nothing. Not even footprints in the dirt. It was all smooth and untouched as if no one had been there.

Weird. Very very weird.

And yes, we're so nosy we're heading back out during the daylight to look again. And about his clothing... it's full on summer here. 100 degree weather. No one would be wearing what he was wearing and survive long. It would literally kill you.

Ooh! I bet you did discover a ghost! Creepy and kinda cool you two!

Awesome! I'd check the papers at the library if there were any death in the area if they match what you saw. It would be interesting if it did.

We went today and really he could have hidden from us when we drove back us, being surrounded by trees but why would he hide when he stood there as we went by the first time? And there were no footprints where he stood, however, the ground is baked solid. We left no footprints there either, so that's no proof of spooks. Who he was, I have no clue. We figure we'll walk the field the gate opens to in a day or so. My leg hurt too bad for walking. I noted the gate was numbered 36, and is one of two gates into that area. I think it's where a lot of the deer hunters go.

Careful then, he could be something worse then a spook. Like a poacher maybe.

Oh that is so creepy. It reminds me of the day I stepped out of Petco to go to another store in the same center. When I was stricken with a instinct to not go down the sidewalk where a man was standing losing his mind. He was waving his arms around and acting like he was crazy on something and paranoid. I knew I could not pass him on the sidewalk. So I decided instead to go to my car and drive to the other store and re park. When I turned back around to check where he was. Poof he was no where to be found. The odd thing was there was no place for him to go in that amount of time that I would not have seen him. Yep gone. It was not busy that day, no way for him to get off of that side walk fast enough and disappear. Yet he did. He wasn't in the parking lot, he wasn't in the other store. Where was he? Probably buried 6 feet under somewhere close by. Who the heck knows.

Our friends looked out the back as we went by and swear he just faded away, they could see him standing still, then he was gone. He must have gone to hang out with your crazy guy, Tula. Your situation sounds pretty creepy as well.

My littlest sister and I researched, but no murders or missing hunters. Still, it was just so weird.

We do have a poacher problem out here, but he would be nuts to be wearing winter gear. Plus, they typically hide so they don;t get caught Maybe he is really dumb. Or really dead. Or maybe an interesting combo of the two!

We have had problems with poachers be for and when we called the cops he didn't get arrested and then he went to our house and shot the llama and killed it.

He shot your llama?! What a worthless, rotten piece of human garbage!!

Yes. Her name was Claire. She was our first llama, a rescue from a death farm where they starved their animals. She got all healthy only to be killed in her own yard. We knew who did it, but couldn't prove it. We'd caught him poaching deer and turned him in. He killed our neighbour's dog and our Claire for revenge. Both in the same day. I cried for days. She was such a lovely gal. Dear ol' Claire. :(

wow what a situation o_O I hope I never see a ghost. I do hear them I swear I hope don't go batty for that. That cat that is a ghost still comes around on my bed everynight. Ive got used to it now its like im dependent on it to help me get to sleep. As for the poachers that is just so wrong to kill incocent animals just because they were on a rampage of revenge so terrible. That kinda stuff makes me sick.

Every once in a while I will see a furry white flash running around my feet. It is so 3D and real looking I have almost tripped over it. However, when I look down to catch a better glimpse of it, well, it is gone. This is my Lou. He was a flame point persian cat and I loved him with my heart, soul and then some. I figure he is still around me because, I am always telling Vinny about his brother Lou that lives over the Rainbow Bridge. Then I will ask Vinny, "have you seen him lately?" Vinny always gives me this look like, "your brain went over the rainbow bridge but I will play along." Baaaaaaaaaa

Also

Once I went to moms and she said she saw a little cream colored thing following me all over the house. She could tell it was very tuned into me and it was an animal. I told her it probably was Sophie my late pug that I also loved with every inch of my life. Then, that same year mom lost her dog. One day she was walking through her bedroom and there was her dog laying across the doorway. She was frustrated and fussing at her to move when it occured to her that dog had passed away. When she looked back down, the dog was gone.

Whoa!

It sounds an awful lot like a ghost. Truth is, most spirits won't hurt you - and some are just what you might call impressions, no actual concionciouness or awareness. Just an energy imprint embedded on a space, like a video tape being played on loop. Others are actually congiesant and are usually back for unfinished business. I'd say about 3/4 or more will probably leave you alone if you politely ask them to do so, very very few are actively malicious although there *are* some don't get me wrong.

I live in an extremely haunted city, was born in a haunted hospital, live in a haunted house, went to a haunted university and have worked in several occupied theatres. Just kind of a fact of life where I'm from for a lot of people.

All four (perhaps five) of my cats have returned, so have several relatives. None of them are frightening, just kind of...there

There's only one spirit in our house we can't identify, although we think she may have been a nurse because she only shows up when people are ill. I first encountered her around Christmas a few years back, I wasn't feeling well and was lying down on the couch in the living room; I wasn't asleep, just had my eyes closed ,and I heard someone walking across the hardwood floor of the living room; very definitely a light woman's footstep, the kind you picture going with those old fashioned kitten-heeled slippers. I felt the foot of the chesterfield depress as though someone had sat down on it, and I *felt* someone looking at me, very distinctly, like a mum checking on you to make sure you were alright, then I heard her get up and walk away. I opened my eyes, got up went into the kitchen, to find my Mum up to her elbows in cooking the turkey for dinner that night, having not left the kitchen for several hours...

Same thing has since happened to my Dad in similar circumstances...we have no idea who she is..

Maybe it was a ghost but just like @LadyJasmine said, it could be harmless. Or maybe the ghost is around to protect you and your family and animals. I am sorry that someone killed your llama Claire, and your neighbors dog :( That's really awful. I hope the ghost goes after that dirtbag!
