I'm a huge Jerry Springer fan, first of all....

But yesterday, I just about fell out on the floor when I heard the word "Brony" come out of Jerry's mouth.

He had two bronies (one girl, one guy) on his show's first segment yesterday. They did a little cosplay as RD and PP. They got a pretty warm reception, I just wanted you all to know. Nobody made fun or anything. It also wasn't portrayed in a negative light. They only really mentioned the show and not the collecting community, but I just thought I'd mention it here. :EMOTITWOCATS:

The brony community has gone over this with a fine-toothed comb. It was only a small segment of the show, and I think the bigger part was how Jerry went over how the entire brony community flipped out with "ZOMG DONT GO ON JERRY YOULL RUIN US" than the two guests.

The girl who was supposed to be cosplaying Rainbow Dash had a unicorn horn and raver/scene goggles and dreadlocks, so she looked a lot more like an OC than RD. The guy as Pinkie Pie was okay? Wasn't obviously PP except for his wearing pink.

He said he was supposed to be Pinkie.....I watched the episode.

Yeah I don't think that was a positive light with how ridiculous the supposed pony fans were. They looked more like hired actors to me..heck that whole show is fake ya know.

Well, to me, it was positive. Believe me, it could have been pretty darn bad. And the show is for real.... trust me, I know lots of crazies like the people that are usually on there.....

Pretty sure its fake..

People who've been on the show have reported being handed scripts.

And if you're cosplaying as Rainbow Dash, why would you be wearing a horn? No generation of Dash (or characters that have inspired her) were a unicorn, so either she was an actor who had no idea what they were doing, or Springer staff dressed her up for the roll, adding to the fakeness of the show.

Eh, you just have to take it in stride. I remember how awful it was in the 1990's when I was super-uber-goth girl and Jennie Jones would do "goth makeovers." It's all about what gets ratings. Pretty soon, the trend will fade, the media attention will move on to something else, and the fans will be left in peace.

Besides, I'm not too worried about the opinions of anyone who actually takes those type of shows seriously, anyway :)
