Thank you for all the advice!!

Thanks all for the advice i did cut my spending. Or rather changed it . I shifted some of the money i'm using to buy pony's to buy some other things my Husband and i agree on rather than fighting with him and me getting mad about it. Because there is no point in getting upset about it b/c it's not going to get me anywhere!! Lol So we decided that my money is better served on entertainment purposes like movies or video games. And only buy 2 or 3 pony's every other month. ** depending on the price of course maximum of 20 dollars :) ** That way he doesn't feel I'm wasting my money and he could use what i buy 2 . I realised i have to work together with him or they'll just be more fighting ! Which wouldn't help our relationship. I really appreciate everyone's help !! It was really appropriate and it helped me make a good decision .

*there there* *comforting shoulder hug*

Bid it, and they will come. 8)

I am going to be the devil's advocate...

Are you bidding realistically?
Are you bidding on ponies you can realistcally afford?

If you are bidding 5 dollars on Mimic for example, then yes...you will loose and it will be very dissapointing.
If you only have a small budget..bid on the ponies you know you can afford. 5 dollars for example would get you a nice firefly or peachy.
If you are not doing these things...then you will get frustrated quickly.
So figure out your budget and remember to be realistic.

That's why I love Buy It Now. Sometimes people can be outrageous in how much they want, but every now and again you can find some fantastic deals that way.

Thanks i know

I't's just disappointing when my Husband gives me a limit i'm not going to be betting anymore . He just doesn't get that 3 bucks doesn't get you much anymore :) He gets mad when i go to 4 dollars !!?? Which doesn't make a whole heckload of sense b/c he lets me send pony's away for trading !! I'm just frustrated i haven't gotten many G1 's lately. The ones i've been finding in town are all G3's and i have the usualy ones like Sunny daze and Rainbow dash etc etc:bonk:

My new Topic !! Wife's that love pony's and the men that marry them lol

You'd think he would know by now that i love pony's and that 20 to 30 dollars a month is not unreasonable is it??? Or do you guys think i'm messed up?? Maybe i am nuts?? I don't have many other hobbies I paint but that's all Dollar Store supplies and i only do it when the mood strikes?? I don't go out clubbing or drinking and i don't smoke so it's not like i spend a wack load of money??

So do you not have a job or your own source of income? If that's the case, then I do not think that him allowing you $20-$30 a month on ponies is so unreasonable. Its hard for our significant others to understand ponies and if he's giving you a pony allowance out of his own money than that seems like a very nice gesture. Perhaps you could save that money from month to month and then put it towards a pony you really want.

COntinued

No No I do have my own Job i work 4 to 5 days a week at a Casino In the City . Casino Niagara in fact I make good money it's just that we are trying to work together to pay for our apartment and his truck !!! So i get a little bitter when he says that i'm spending tooo much ! I've only spent about 40 dollars this month on Pony's. In fact i hadn't really bought much until recently. Since we were saving to pay for our wedding last year i rarely bought pony's in the last 6 months!

Well, we had this discussion a few weeks ago, but you and your husband have to agree on what the two of you can and cannot buy. If I go out and drop $200 on ponies, I can't honestly expect Mr. Skeen not to mind. And if he wants to go out and drop $200 on new sound modules, he's completely justified.

Maybe for him $40 is an unreasonable amount to spend in a month for vinyl horses. To me, spending $100 on obsolete sound equipment is outrageous, but if I'm going to spend that much on my hobby, I should expect my husband to be able to do the same.

Just save your pony allowance for a few months, and then bid higher on the things you want. Ponies ALWAYS come up for sale again.

His truck?

Ah...if he has his toys, you should be able to have yours. And I bet plastic horses don't cost nearly as much if you keep on a monthly budget. You seem to be a grown women. Why do you have to have his permission to have things you want as long as you don't go crazy? Did he have to have your permission to get his toy?

I think you 2 have to sit down and come to a justified agreement.
Me and my hubby both work , we don't have huge paying jobs, but they pay enough to live happy. We take care of our priorities first, then if we can will buy a treat for ourselfs like @ income tax time etc .... but i can go mths easy without buying pony's & him coinsets...
if i have $10 in my paypal , I'll bid for the fun of it on something rare starting at like $1... i know i won't win but it was fun :)

I think Nessyb has given you great advice. Unfortunately on Ebay ponies often do go for a lot especially if you are trying to win rare ones and as we've all seen they are times when bidding wars break out and even common go for a big price. It can be VERY competitive on their and as Whipputluv said you do need to be realistic about what you're bidding.

If you are on a budget here's a few ideas for you :)

Make a list of the more common ponies you really like and look for them. Firefly, Lickety Split, Cotton Candy, Lemon Drop, Peachy and lots of others you can easily pick up for $4. Lots of sellers here on the boards often have ponies in that price bracket when there are trying to clearout lots of extras ponies that need cleaning etc.

If you have spare ponies advertise to trade with others you'll only be up for postage costs.

Stick to G3 for a while. You should be able to find heaps of NM G3 around $4 even non Core 7.

And most importantly enjoy your collection. Not everybody can have a collection of rare Columbian ponies etc some people simply have the funds to buy rarer more expensive ponies so it's no good getting upset when you lose on EBay to super serious collectors etc if you simply don't have the funds to match them!

In fact if Ebay does get to you I'd reccommend shopping here on the boards instead it's much less stressful :p It sounds like not getting the ponies you want is really upsetting you and pony buying should be fun not upsetting :frown:

:icon_smile_lachuh:

That is sometimes the way that I am..... :alien_dance:

It is crazy to think about what we spend on pieces of plastic that at one time was 5 - 7 dollars in the store.....

Can you please use normal font?

It's hard to read you're text because of the font. Can you please use the default one? :)

I do get the problem. My husband has given up on his "do you really have to have THAT pony too" issues. Finally. He understands that no matter what he says, as long as I pay my part of the living, the rest of the money that is mine, REALLY IS mine. And I can use it to what ever I wish. Wether its to buy ponies, give to charities, wipe my butt or burn it...

And expensive ponies ARE expensive. Whining about it wont change it (even though I'm sure we all feel it should), so either save the money or buy cheaper ponies. :)

ooops

sorry guys i can' hardly see it so i always choose to go bigger it's not cause i'm shouting or anything really i'm just blind as a bat and deft in my left ear for that matter !!! You can also magnify the text using the zoom option in your browser. That should make everything easier to read for you ;)
