Can some tell my why is pony selling for more than $1.000.00

that looks like a rare variant, lickety split is normally pink, not blue.

I agree. She looks nice in blue. That is a treat to see actually..lucky winner! What a variant..wow..

Wow I would never pay that lol. I really, really don't think she is that pretty either, imo. Must have been some crazy heated bidding going on!

Lickety-Split, the smuggler

I'm going to have to agree with Susan in that $1,000 for a pony- yes, even a rare variant- is ridiculous. I showed my husband the link and he immediately said, "That's not a pony! That's a mule! They're buying the drugs inside the pony, not the pony itself." Lol!

As others have mentioned, she's anything but common. I've never seen her in those colours before :surprisepony:

I know there are Nirvanas out there who do fetch around $1000 (like Greek Ladybug) as there's only about a handfull of them in existance that we know of. So it's not completely unheard of with that price for a Nirvana. But dear lord, I'd personaly rather go on vacation XD

Wow... One thousand dollars... *takes out paintbrush* *takes out Lickety Split* smiles evilly...

I didn't really look at the auction. Was she Italian Blue or Venny Blue?

shes from venezuela!! and OOAK :smilepony:
theres also a blue LS from Italy that is EXtremely rare and she sells for quite a bit as well

some ponies are very pretty so they are expensive
for example mimic and red roses

others are expensive because theyre rare
like rapunzle or mommy and baby pony

this one happesn to be SUPER rare AND Very beautiful = very expensive ;)

I'd have to agree with the drug-smuggling. Only, pony-smuggling.... Ponies are drugs... And a addiction... xD

If you are ooh-ing and aah-ing over that price.. you shouldhave seen the Columbian Big Brothers a few years back. If I remember right.. some of those hit the 5k mark!

Now.. I would never ever pay that much for a bit of pony shaped plastic..Not even if I were a millionaire.. but to each their own. I'd rather spend money on a foreign pony-hunting trip than on a pony!

A while back someone had a MOC mimic and she also went for over 1,000 or pretty close to it. The seller's ID was something like Alaskan_Huskies. They also had another rare MOC that sold for quite a bit but I cant remember who the **** it was. This was about 10 or so years ago

Holy cow that is so expensive. I know that is a great and super rare pony for anyone to have in that collection but if I spent that much money on a pony I would get in really big trouble with my mom lol.

I remember that Tiki. Gosh, that brings me back..good one..right-on..

Did anyone check out the bidding history? It started out at $15! So I'm sure the seller is pleasantly surprised.

The waxy plastic confuses me, though. I know that a lot of foreign ponies were made out of low-grade plastic. Has anyone here encountered such a pony before? And what's the plastic like to work with?

I held one at the fair last year. It was actually quite sturdy and if I'm not confusing it with Colombians, was very dense. Just the paint is cheap on these, it looks like. The hair was DIVINE. I wish I knew what it was, because I don't think it was "normal" nylon.

I have to plead guilty as part of the bidding war with a lovely arena member there for that particular pony = she's (so far) a one of a kind pony = although man, of late a lot of ponies from venezuela are popping up for without any hair and a squeaker! so go figure

but yah, I think that color scheme is just a really cool vibrant variation for lickety :)

I don't think I could ever shell out that much for a pony.

That said, Lickety Split looks great in blue (that shade is actually my favorite color), and that's my favorite G1 pose. The winner is definitely lucky to have her.
