Cleaning the Garage Paid Off!

ok so this week has been "clean out the garage" week at my house. and between the killer heat and the evil mold in the garage itself, it's not been fun at all. but today, today it soooo paid off!

i refound a chunk of my dragon collection; alot of my stuff is actually out there who knows where from i moved out a few years ago, so i haven't seen the stuff in years! but here's what i found today ^^

3 of my McFarlen dragons, my 2 movie Megablock dragons, a Malificent (that roars like Godzilla), my Winged Dragon of Ra, and the little red dragon i got in germany. now i just have to find places to put these...

but the best finds weren't by me but my famliy peoples (ok my sis and dad) when i was cooling down from the heat.

Trickles and Sundance were going to be "garbage ponys" as MB put it; hey were in a box that was going to get tossed, but they were spotted and saved! and they look great after a beach bath. Trickles has nearly no glitter loss, and Sundance is warped, and does have blue crayon (i think) on her NDS, but I've yet to take acetone to her.

The McG2s were found by Gracie, and went in bleach too. But these are mine because they have my initial under their feet :lol: and they cleaned up so wonderfully, and i think are upgrades to the set i have-how weird :lol:

and then the fakies just were cleaned with soap; i have the mommy to the Remco still, but tyhat blue fakie...i've a few in this mold from yardsaling, and they're weird, but cool...anyone know anything about them?

but by far, the bestest find goes to my dad. this is a childhood pony i clearly remember having and figured i would NEVER own again because of how much she's worth. but here i am, holding my original pony, and i am just estatic!

it's the MO fancy pants baby!! her head is discolored from her body, and her symbol has some flaws (factory maybe?) and she's got some weird neck glue, but do i care-NOWAY! this is MY pony! and her hair is so unfaded and i tried to leave the curl intact best i could (tail cut?) when i cleaned her with soap and water. but again, do i care? NOT AT ALL! this is my original childhood pony, and it's just so cool! ^^

so i guess surrfering through hte humidity of death, and g etting covered in grime was worth it in the end. because i got some of my history back ^^

It's MO Baby! Rock-on! So rock-on! Bright pink hair, so excellent! The others, all good too! I adore..
 
Omg yay for you Kat, this is awesome!

I love your Maleficent dragon particularly, and all the pony finds are awesome. Trickles looks really pretty, especially her symbols. That MO Baby is in such nice condition! Her hair is absolutely gorgeous! Big yays for you!
 
Wow! Those are some great finds! It really pays to clean out the garage. I wish I had stuff like that in a garage. :)

It's like xmas in July!! :coolsnow: It's such an awesome feeling finding your childhood toys.
 
your house is a veritable treasure trove of finds in all possible corners :) too cool on such discovery/re-discoveries :) so here's hoping you find the shelf space so all that pony and non-pony goodness doesn't get lost again (I know how that goes all too well...)

Nah, her tail isn't cut, MO Baby has a funky short tail. :) Neat find!
 
Congrats! That's a special find. I know the feeling...it's the same one I had when I found my purple Totsy. Not quite as cool as MO baby.....but it is the only pony I have left from childhood, so I'll be we did the same happy dance. lol

There is absolutely nothing better than finding a childhood pony again, that's so exciting!
 
WOW!!!!! Trickles is gorgeous, and to find that MO baby is simply... oh wow. Just... WOW!! :) Happy snoopy dancing for ya! :dog_dance:

actually it is. we used to do comic book shows, and there's 6 of us in this small house, so we've got lots of things stored everywhere.

and thanks everyone. i was sorta dead from the killer heat/humidity but i was indeed doing a happy dance ^^

So you ordered baby pony through the mail when you were a kid, cool! Lucky choice you made back then, she and her mum turned out to be so scarce today that they go for stupid money. Wow, she looks never played with! Did she come along toward the end of your collecting days, or did you just treat her very well?


Your dragons are fantastic! I think I see a Disney one in there, the black one is Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty, right?

actually she was probably bought from a yard sale with her mom way back in the day. and i've seen how much they go for-that's why i thought i'd never get replacements for them. but when whoever brought her inside to me came i sqeeled despite the heat stroke because i knew what a lucky pony i was to still have her and in such good shape ^^ and i was actually very good with my ponys i think

and yup that's a Maleficent. she makes sound and sounds like Godzilla XD;;
