Current Projects: Mimic and Sugarberry

Here are some ponies who have made their sad ways to me. Both are in need of some TLC. I am currently in the process of cleaning them up as best I can.

Finally got Sugarberry's head off and she has soaked in some boiling oxyclean. Here are her before photos:





Mimic is in sad shape. Her body is hard and her head is still firmly glued on. I have been working her under very hot water and have gotten a section of her head loosened. She's still very much a work in progress.

I finally got her head off! And look how gross she is inside...




And her insides after a little boil in the oxyclean pot (though her head just got filled with oxyclean as I didn't want to risk her eyes in the hot water)...





And tail removal:



I still have a ways to go trying to remove the pin-dot mold and to fix her tail, but at least we are making progress!

The Sugarberry came in a lot from an acquaintance in Texas. It was part of her childhood collection. Mimic came from a lot on ebay.

That's pretty impressive progress so far. I've never tried cleaning such dirty ponies and probably would have thought they were beyond salvation. Go, you!

This brought back strange memories of my first pony's.
I got a baby unicorn and she was rampant with mold so I soaked her in a jar for days.

Are you going to try to re root them with their original hair??

I would love to see how you remove the pin-dot mold. I know I have several ponies that have it and would love a facelift!

I know! The rust really ate through most of the metal. It's pretty gross. I haven't yet had time to finish removing it from her tail, but I plan to replace it with a plastic holder so she will have no more rust issues.
