Hi all walking home from school today saw there was an antique market. So I stopped to see if they had any ponies. And they did but there were pretty expensive.... (The first one was white with pink hair and kinda dingy for 25$ CAD )Until I realized there was boy pony! Yellow pony with cactus symbol and pink hair if I remember correct? I'm sorry I got so excited I forgot who I saw!

Is 15 Canadian dollars a good price to pay for him? He looked in good condition for my collection. Thanks for help and advice!

ETA: I searched him online and found he is Tex :)

I think it would be, if he really is in good condition. Before you buy though, you'll definitely want to look him over carefully.

Thank you for your assessment Star_Flare. I forgot to mention he has no accessory sorry. Hopefully he is still a good price.

ETA: I went back to have a look at him. He has two small brown spots- one on his cheek and one on his leg- and a small pink spot on his leg. His hair seems not bad, not too crunchy and not too frizzy. I'm still debating should I buy him?

I'm in CAD and 15 CAD would be like 22 USD so it's a decent price in my opinion

Thanks for the advice folks! Here he is

He does have a pink mark on his foot (it is very small though)

and a two of these brown spots (the other is on a leg)

I do not know if any of these will come off but overall I think he is very cute

@BabyNightmare I'm in Alberta. I would think that Ontario would have more ponies just based on the number of ads that surface when I try to browse kijiji. I guess it depends on how close to the bigger cities. I sure wish I was in Ontario though.

I'm in Ontario and we have nothing even in the big cities like Hamilton and Toronto

Well that's unfortunate :( maybe it's a Canada wide thing? I've been actively looking for G1s for about 4 months now. So far I've bought a small lot on kijiji (3 g1 and a bunch of g4) and Tex from the antique market. They had more at the market but I thought the others were all over priced (correct me if I'm wrong, but a filthy Merry Treats for 18$? TAF Dancing Butterflies for 15$? Ruby Lips for 15$? Prices seem to much to me. They also had a a Birth Flower pony for 25, which might be fair I'm not sure, not really interested in them they all look too similar.....) I've kept my eyes on kijiji, flea market, value village (great for finding G3&4) and garage sales but haven't seen anything else G1. My auntie found a baity Bluebell (I think in Lloyd) and I can't wait to pretty her up again. :) how does it compare to Ontario?

Sorry for long reply, I get excited and like to talk a lot :p I still wish I could be in Ontario, I use to live there and it's so so beautiful.

@Sparkler I think you did good with Tex! As another Alberta collector I know finding G1's out here can be really hard. The others you have listed do seem quite high (as can be expected in an antique market) but you did good with Tex. Especially if you consider how poor the CAD dollar to US exchange rate is right now plus how expensive it is to ship to Canada, being able to find a G1 locally is so hard to pass up. I went crazy in an antique mall in Calgary and paid way over what I would normally for a few ponies just because I got excited I found some and couldn't leave them behind. Thankfully, I don't live in Calgary and the temptation to go back and spend more is not very feasible. I am originally from the Lethbridge area and found that competition there was getting out of control and finding a G1 was next to impossible. Now I am living near Grande Prairie and have been having a lot better luck with Kijiji, Goodwill and Value Village.

Tex looks fab^^ I think that was pretty good price of him :) SOmetimes they can be very high priced too.. :S SO you got a good deal :p

I see them on Kijiji sometimes, but when I get in touch with the seller the price they want is not something I would ever pay.
