Displaying ponies

Hi all,

I have a faily random question. I am new to collecting and at the moment have my collection (approx 50 ponies) in a wooden display cases with glass. But I had an idea the other day and I wanted some opinions.

I am thinking about displaying my complete set and almost complete set in a seperate melamine cabinet and having the shelves lined with the plastic artifical grass you can buy. I want to create a kind of 'scene' with trees and their accessories for my most favourite ponies.

But my concern is whether the colour from the artifical grass would be absorbed by the ponies? Could it damage my prized ponies? Does anybody have any ideas?

How do others display them? What is the best/most popular way?

Sorry for such trivial questions but I thought I better ask the experts before I decided to go ahead!

Thanks
Tegan

I don't have any experience with the artificial grass, but from experience storing ponies with *anything* can have bad results.
G1s in particular absorb colour really well. And I'd be especially careful living somewhere that's hot and humid.
Definitely make sure you check on them often

Yes I agree, I would be very concerned about dye transfer from the grass on the pony feet. This would be very sad if it were to happen. Might not be worth the risk. I would just put them on a clean, color free surface. Mine are not even on shelves at the moment, but I get them out often so hopefully they will not get ruined stored the way they are.

I think from what I have seen here is that many people put them on open shelves or in cabinets. I wish I had the room for a cabinet for mine. I would avoid bright lights or sun also because this will ruin their color.
