She look pretty good, not surprised at all, the question is how big is she? Same size as a fashion style, vinyl pony, etc?
 
If this is the fair exclusive too, I'm glad I'm not able to go this year. DJ just looks tacky; let's throw on some glitter & rhinestones & charge people $50 for it...
 
Agreed, tsuki. Just wait for the Funko version if you want this character. Cheaper, better sculpt, no fighting over her on ebay.

She seems to be a fashion style based on the mold of the body.

I really like her. She's ery obviously a collectible instead of just a "normal" toy that that has a different paint job.
 
I kind of like the Swarovski on her. I doubt I'll be getting her, because I'm not "into" FiM background characters enough to spend $50 on them. I also wish she had brushable hair, although the sculpted mane does look nice.

She's the Fair Exclusive too, right?
 
Let me just start off by saying -- there will be collectors that don't like something about every exclusive pony that comes out. Even in past years with the G3 ponies people were complaining about one thing or another. That's just the way it goes.

However... I'm not sure how I feel about this. I'm already a collector and I have been for years. I don't need the pony's box to tell me or a figure that's made "just to be a collectable" to me.. every my little pony is a collectable. Not just the exclusives... hope that makes sense. lol

hhmmm I'm not sure. I don't really like ponies who have hair that you can't brush (what's the point if you can't brush and style her hair!?) I like the crystals though those are pretty. But for $50... IDK I will wait and see if she's around for sale. Maybe.

I will say that I really wanted a pony to celebrate the 30th birthday of MLP. I don't feel this one does it at all. Those retro G1 ponies that we got back when G3 was out is all we are gonna get I guess. Sad.
 
Eh.... I'm not so crazy about her. The sculpt is ok, but I find the paint job on the hair strange and I really don't like the crystals on the glasses. They would have been better off completely covering either the lenses or the frames, instead of just dotting them both, or they could have left the glasses alone entirely and made a crystal symbol or something. And while we're on the topic of the symbol, it bugs me that they make the eighth notes backwards. I get that she's a DJ, not a classically trained musician, but it's a pet peeve. Ok, done complaining now.

On the bright side, I'll save $50+ because I don't want her.

lol. That's true! Her symbol doesn't bother me.. although I never thought about it not making that much sense for a DJ. I'm old school I would have liked to see a record as her symbol! :tongue:

Yeah, the funny thing with DJ is that the wrong way is the right way :lol:

But yeah, at DJ is consistent.

A record would have been great! That's much more representative of her "special talent" (quotes were not put there in a condescending way, I'm quoting the show).
 
I have some g4's, but I'm not exactly a collector of them, I get the ones I really like and whatever I find thrifting. I was happy to get last year's pony. She was so adorable I *might've* spent the money on ebay to get her had someone kindly not picked her up for me at the SDCC. This one, not my cup of tea, perhaps if she had brushable hair, she's definitely different though. I'm a little surprised Hasbro didn't convert a G1 considering it's the 30th anniversary of my little pony. I'd have loved to see a G4 fashion style Cotton Candy or Firefly!

This is just such a cash grab, of all the things they could have made too. I'm happy with mine from the TRU pack :)
I hope for Fair goers this isn't what you get. That would be VERY unfair.
 
Comic Con 2013 Exlcusive

A few days ago, I found out that Hasbro's exlcusive for Comic-Con 2013 is going to be DJ Pon-3. I kind of predicted this would be the case, but there is something unusual about it.

It seems she is going to be molded, rather than a Fashion Style pony or brushable like the past exclusives were.

I don't have a pic right now because I'm on someone else's PC, but I will post the pic and some information about her later.



If she was a Fashion Style pony, I'd totally get my hands on her for sure, but...



Anyway, what do you think about this?
 
I'd rather a brush able, but from the picture I've seen she looks really cool. I'm not gonna be able to get my hands on her, but I don't mind. She looks very sparkly XD
