I have this fun thing I have been doing for years. I assign certain ponies to family and friends. Usually it is because the pony reminds me of them in some way or the name of the pony represents them in some way.
Like for example:
My mother is Bon Bon. The reason for this is because all my life as a child she would go through the boxed candies and take a bite out of the bottom to see what kind it was. Drove me crazy. We tease her to this day for that. She also is Carnation because her birthday is in January but sadly, she hates Carnations.

My Step father which I call dad is Munchy. Its all about the food with him. Its an ocd thing for him. Food Food and more food.

He also is steamer because he collects trains.

My grandfather is baby Bunkie. The reason is because as child I called him Bunky. LOL So my mother and I both have this pony because of this fact.

R2 is two ponies, Star Hopper and Baby Ribbs. R2 loves space and the old classic Syfy space theme movies as well as Star Wars and all that stuff. He also loves dragons especially Elliot from Disney.

Do you guys do this?

My daughter has a personality that is weird strange maybe along the lines of Wind Whistler. She loves science but shes also musically talented ( dont know which pony that is.)
My husband is 4-speed only because he works in construction. However, I dont think his personality could be type cast to a pony because which pony has a smart alec mentally and a wicked sense of humor? Sometimes I do think of him as Thundercloud only because he sometimes is very wise and very stern. He is many things sometimes ponies just don't fit into personalities completely or fully well.
Also somebody needs to do a personality pony "G1 quiz like Which G1 Pony are you??" but not just a few ponies but like loads of them which means you would get an good answer every time you took the quiz.

Yea well I don't know what the personalities of the ponies are really. I just go by the symbol or the name. If I were to try to pick a personality I would be lost. I never really watched the cartoon enough to know each character that well. So, for me this is strictly the way the pony looks that they remind me of someone.

I've always associated one of my younger brothers with Steamer because of his love for trains. c:

My housecat always tried to chew on G3 Toola Roola when I was little, so I guess TR reminds me of her.

Beyond that... no one else gets ponies, mostly because there are other fictional characters who suit them better.

I'm more used to using ocs to represent friends since my friends tend to have ocs, but I made friends with yosh through rainfeather so I associate the two he is the reason I needed a baby rainfeather in my collection, which I now have.
I have another friend who insists I call him dashie...yet I can' associate him with rainbow dash
Family members mostly don' have ponies but my little cousin is any exception. She has 2 back when I was using my oc stardust to represent me (before saphy) I saw this artist I love selling a character that looked like a younger cuter stardust I bought it with plans of it representing her. Her favorite pony is pinkie though so I connect both to her.
Otherwise if they have an oc that's what pony I see them as.

Yea see that just goes to show how much my mind revolves around ponies. Baaaaa I have one pony assigned to everyone in my life. This girlie is pony crazeeee!
Now I wanna do that I thought I was pony crazy but I haven' done that really. I do spend all day thinking about random scenes from my pony stories to make the stories more in depth...that' pony crazy enough right?

I guess I think of my best friend who lives three states away as unicorn twilight sparkle. She loves books and learning and working in a library is something I think she'd love. Also the EQG version has spike as a dog and she loves dogs.

I kinda see my older niece as mix of the cutie mark crusaders but mostly Apple bloom and scootaloo. She act just like them both. Determined and willing to try anything to find what she likes.

My younger niece is Princess FlurryHeart hands down. She has too much mojo for such a tiny thing and can destroy thing quite fast.
But she can be sweet and wants to play with her aunt.

Iono about a pony for other people or beats my OC who would I be like.

Yep, sure do. I'm Rarity, my eldest daughter is Twilight Sparkle, My good friend is Rainbow Dash, My mom is Apple Jack, my second daughter is Fluttershy and my baby girl is Flurry Heart! My dad is Big Mac... he even responds with the "eeeYup!" all the time!

I think if I had to label others as ponies My grandmother who passed would be granny Smith hands down.
My sister Cheerlie hands down
My brother in law would be Spike
I think I am some where between a background pony called Inky Rose and Maud pie and freak out like Rarity.

I do, too!

I guess I do a bit. Before I made my husband's OC, and still to this day, I associate him with Lightning because he is an electrician. He is represented by Lightning on our MN Meet posters too. My best friend loves Shamrocks so I guess I associate her with G1 Minty.

I would totally take that quiz!

As a kid I associated my ponies with kids at school. It's weird now because my recollected ponies still look to me like those kids from school from twenty-five years ago. It's actually kind of spooky.

Cotton Candy really reminds me of my sister. She's beautiful, kind, and sweet and eats a lot of flowers.

I almost forgot I connect baby sapphire to me...cause she has my ocs name by coincidence similar colors, my birth year and is my birth stone...she's my grail and is on her way here squee
