Do you like the generation 4 pony toys?

I adore G4 minifigures, specifically because of their teensiness and their molded manes and tails. (I love G1 Petites, too.)

I even like the small size of the brushables, perhaps because I like tiny things in general. However, I don't actually have any G4 brushables, so I can't vouch for their quality or lack thereof otherwise.

If they made more ponies like the ones in the 2010 Gift Set:

I would be thrilled. (I like molded hair. Nothing wrong with brushable hair, it is very pretty, in some cases downright gorgeous, but I have a thing for those solid-figure ponies.)

I will admit that the brushables do have an almost deer-like look about them. I still think they're cute, though.

The Blind Bags are excellent for variety, and they are finally doing a show-accurate Fluttershy. Did you all see the MLP Monopoly Game? It's got Blind Bag-sized Mane 6 with show accurate manes and tails. I found my game on Amazon.

Want! :surprisepony: Not for the game. Just for the ponies! (Too bad I will never let myself splurge enough to buy it. Maybe the ponies will turn up secondhand on eBay or somesuch...)

I'm not really a fan of the new generation. I don't like the way they look, I miss the way the used to look like. But of course, that's just my opinion.

Ember - Inorite? Show-accurate Fluttershy sold me this game, truthfully. The worksmanship, tho, is a little under par compared to Blind Bags.

You can get very similar blind bag style figs with this children's book at Barnes and Noble or Amazon. The paint job isn't the greatest, but you could always give them a touch up. And of course, show accurate Fluttershy is here with the Elements of Harmony set, so YAYS!

Here's the set. Super cute. Lots of little figs and backgounds, plus the book!

Prince Shining Armour!

Wow, I definitely need to add that to my arsenal of baits at some point. :) Who knows what I'd end up needing that kind of base for but some point down the line, it'd be bound to happen~

Other than that, just about any new Princess pose that comes out I'm like "must snatch and make a custom from!" Luna Moon from Sailor Moon was an example of that...

ironically enough, from a FiM Princess Luna. ^.^; They just happened to work out for each other... lol!

Yup, I'm probably going to be watching the games aisle, waiting (in vain, no doubt) for the off chance that this game might go on some kind of crazy sale for, like, twenty bucks. (Not gonna happen, is it? *sigh* Maybe with a coupon...) Even then, I would feel a bit guilty getting it, because I am the only monopoly fan in my family, so no one would play it with me. :cry2:

I do have the Elements of Harmony Friends set, though, which has a super-cute Fluttershy who is perfect for a Mane Six minifigure lineup. :ponylove: (I love me a complete lineup with six unique figures. They should have done this from the start!) I'm so very much looking forward to the Wave 9 blind bags, both because they will have Fluttershy II in them and because they are my chance to collect most of the Mane Six in solid colors. (Right now I only have transparent and neon, because I was late to this game.) No Twilight, though! That just seems so wrong... how can there not be a Twilight?

Oh, that book looks adorable! And it's cheap, too... I know what I'll be picking up on my next trip to Barnes and Noble! Thanks for pointing that out, I didn't know B&N had such a thing. :smilepony:

I for one grow up with the G2 ponies even though they where not really from Hasbro I didn't know and I didn't care I was 6 and loved there slim bodies and round faces and colourfull hair and diamonds in there eyes its still my favorite set.

When I got older and came to know about the other gens I was kinda like: G1: there are so fat... but cute. G3: I really thought they where ugly maybe because I was so used to the G2 that the other gens just seemed like fat horses to me at first haha and G3 just had to much horse in it like big nose hols and also colours and forms in there eyes en glitter bodies sometimes maybe it was because I turned to be kinda a boytoy lover (pokemon ninja turtles) that I didn't like them but the poses they had where nice and the wings are cute when I think back about them. but I never bought one I just wished the G2 would come back so I was kinda out of it.

Until G4 came they reminded me more of G2 but then chibi size :) and I also loved the show first and when I LOVE a animation show I need to have something of it but now I'm having my whole collection with almost all the ponies of G4 and I'm kinda starting to like G1 more and more too. But there are indeed BIG fails in the G4 toys I'm glad there fixing most of it but I also can't stand that they use the mine6 over and over and over and now the princesses too. I wish they would make more boy ponies like Big Mac.

one last thing that they could do better are the houses/castles/misc they are just big pieces of plastic. In G2 you could fold them and take them with you a little like G1 had too that was awesome I wish they would do that again it makes it much cooler to play with I know cause I loved it as a child, 1 toy that can have more forms and can be compact.

but indeed G4 is adorable and I can't stop collecting the once that are seen in the show ^^ I just hope they will improve more and focus more on all the ponies then on who is most populair and easy to sell. can't wait for the next fan favo box set <3

(wow that is much typing for me about my boring pony story haha sorry)

I have to agree with a lot of what everyone else has said about the pitfalls of G4. I remember how collectors were saying G4 was pretty much a G3 McD's toy you paid $7 for. Surprisingly, my family and friends have told me they prefer the older ponies in my collection to the newest iteration.

I really wish they had kept the magnet feature from G3. That was one of my favorite things across all the gens.

I like the G4 toys in general. I actually don't mind their tiny size. What I do mind is what most other people mind - the lack of poses. Also I wish the tails were thicker, and the heads were easier to remove (for future cleaning purposes). The quality could be better but for $5 a piece (usually) I'm not THAT upset about it. I still wish the heads were made from the same plastic as the bodies though, so that the colors matched...THAT is my biggest issue!

G2 was made by Hasbro. =)

I like the styling size ones best but I wish they would release more characters from the series in a brushable form instead of BB

I think we are starting to see more Brushable characters, at least in the bigger sets.

I love the Gen 4 ponies. I think they are cute with their smallness :) I do find the lack of new poses and lack of quality control somewhat disappointing. Fortunately I have not had many serious issues with my ponies like I have seen in some threads, but overall, I wouldn't say the quality is great. Many of the ponies I have from the recent releases have raised seams on their faces from the new molds, I am not that fussy of a collector, but I can see how others would find it displeasing.

More boys and other characters would be fantastic, however I think Hasbro need to address their quality control issues before experimenting with new molds and characters.

G2 was made by Hasbro. =)

really? :O I heard it was from a European market and it was never on the boxes here that it came from Hasbro. I first thought it was then some one told me it wasn't and now I donno anymore xD but I never fount anything on the internet about it though. even now I saw people thinking it where fakie but thats not true at all xD. it somehow is kinda a forgotten Gen here every one knows Gen 1, 3 and 4 but almost no one knows Gen 2 Dx.

ps: Crystal Princess is also my favorite x)

No, I would not buy a G4 pony if not the littlest baby type pony and big Rainbow Dash which can jump

I thought I was the only who didn't really take to the G4 ponies. I think they are okay but I don't find they are cute or adorable and with the anime style. :/ Equestria Girls are also a bit weird for me and I like weird and kooky. Kind of remind me of the generations of Littlest Pet Shop were the animals look like caricature cartoon animals and not the cute first gen Littlest Pet Shop which was tiny "real" looking animals and accessories.

I currently have five McDonald's G4 ponies but I only got them because I was after Rainbow Dash.

i love the series. Toy line, not so much.

I love the my Little pony friendship is magic series. However I do not fussy the toys. Maybe is the influence of my older sister since they were into the original ponies. and I inherited their toys. I noticed 3 months ago a comic in store. And discover I could buy them online. So far I have every one. Can hardly wait till they make more comics about Fluttershy. She is my favourite character.

I just wanted to add another reason I have not taken to G4 is there is no variety of ponies like the other Gs had. It is just mainly the 6 characters.

Just thought I add it here.

I do love them. They are very cute and the cartoon is well rounded with great character development.
But i have my complaints.. the toys as mentioned smaller. They lack a good variaty of ponies imo as well.. i like the mane six just fine but i want a wider selection of toys... more background ponies or even some that are not in the cartoon like up to date releases of classics. Lets get some with bolder brighter colors as well!
