Ah Tula, this is such a good question and I have also pondered this! Sometimes I start to think I already have too many and it's time to stop.. but of course if I see some at a thrift store or a garage sale I just can't help myself (especially if the price is really good). BUT my biggest concern is also the degradation, there are things that I have bought in pristine condition, put away in a box somewhere only to open it up a few years later and the plastic has totally changed colour. This is for stuff that's 30 years old, what will it be like in another 30? Will the demand for g1s still be there? Will we all still be collecting? Part of the fun is that we all have stuff that we know other people would love to have right? So that gives it an extra special value to it... but everything can change. I also feel like I am a minimalist at heart trapped in the body of a hoarder, so sometimes I wonder if I should just sell everything and travel (but of course I am too attached to my collection to actually do that).
