ebay scam or am I dense?

If something from 1995 is "vintage" then I am very, very old. :(

Good then it's not just me. i know some people value fakies, i don't unless it's made with a hasbro mold (i have found and purchased a few of these). then i only use them for customs, and they don't go up for sale.

I wouldn't say it's a scam, more the seller being dense. It's like those auctions for G3 Pinkie Pie that say RARE at the end.
Just because you can't buy them in stores anymore doesn't make them vintage nor rare :p

i'm pretty sure i've seen that thing at our local dollar tree actually. *Blinks* i remember one time i send an email to an ebay seller who was trying to pass of a knock-off plush horse a vintage MLP plushie, and she tore my head off about how 'she knew what she was selling and she knew it was a vintage mlp plushie because it had a MLP tag on it!' I just backed off and was like 'whatever lady, hope noone actually bids on that thing'.

I think the seller knows exactly what they are doing. Look at how carefully phrased the description is. The words "My little Pony" are never actually used (only the abbreviation).

it just always bothers me to see auctions like that, because while you and i may know the difference, some unsuspecting aunt, or uncle, or grandparent (or even parent in some cases) might NOT know, and buy it for their child who wants a REAL my little pony. :(

I wouldnt say its a scam but a mis titled auction. Plus I believe $100 is just crazy. Definately not mlp. And yes it can be a bother for a guardian to think that their child wants a real mlp and ends up getting a fakie only woth a couple of bucks.....

Hehe some people collect those lanard fakes. As lanards go it is an "older one". I thought those particular ones were 1980s rather than 1990s. I can't remember it has been a while since i came across one.

I thought we couldn't post links to live auctions.......

Anyhoo.....I don't know much about Lanard fakies to say if it's worth the $100 or not. I know some fakies are very popular.

It bugs me because it happened to me once. a lady I knew (in her 70's) , who knew that i collected MLPS was trying to help me out with my collection, and she was so excited that she found some 'mlp' i didn't have. i didn't have the heart to tell the lady they weren't real when she gave them to me for my birthday.

Josiekat, the "live auction" rule is true, but we'll allow this time, due to nobody really being "affected" by this. If anything, it's sort of a warning.

I think this seller (or another one from Greece) has seen how Greek ponies sell for a ton of money and just assumes any pony (or similar) will sell for the same.
