Hello all

i do not know if this has been posted or not? i tried to do a search and my computer at work is just to slow to do anything.

So where do we think the 2015 fair will be.

based on that teaser picture of windy most people are thinking Chicago ?

I've been wondering too. They said somewhere that they might announce it in the beginning of October.

Soooo... until then, why don't we try to string these clues together and see if our prediction is right? :lolpony:

For one, on the post with the picture of Windy, It said they took a weekend trip to look at the venue. Therefore, it's probably not too far away from wherever they live.
I also wonder if it's not in Chicago like everyone thinks it is. Maybe they were trying to confuse us and they were actually going for a different aspect like her release year or her rainbow hair? I just wonder why they would drop such an obvious hint so early on.

What do you think?

yes i thought it might be a red herring they call it LOL if you google windiest city in the usa you do not get Chicago.

October is tomorrow but i do not think they will announce it on the 1st they seem to like to make us wait

I'm still hoping for California

We're all so eager to find out every year, myself included! I've gotten to visit so many cities I otherwise wouldn't have because of the Fair. So it really doesn't matter too much to me where it is, I see it as somewhere new to experience and explore.

I'm sure @SweetTune will tell us when it's all set in stone :winkpony:

yes i agree jewel, i love going to different parts of the usa. i love seeing the different foods and just shopping in the usa is much better then shopping where i am from quebec canada. usa get so much different items and more variety then we do.

the fair is all about anticipation. we wait for it to be announced, then we wait to attend, then it is over :( then we wait again LOL

CHICAGO June 27 & 28! Check their facebook page. WHOo:tongue:PWHOOP!!

holy cow they told us on october 1st LOL woohoooo
ok now to start searching for flights or if i will be brave and take the bus
and i really hope the hotel is not far from the airport

Wow, that was quick! Guess our predictions were wrong! :lolpony:

ok so plane ticket as of now is 470 and that is way high, it cost less for me to go to Nashville and Indianapolis. that is a regular price and not a special yet.
everything fly's into Chicago so i am sure i can get it cheaper later on. plus it would only take me an hour and a half

or

i can take the greyhound for 84 bucks, transfer 3 times and be stuck on it for 22 hours? hmmmm not sure if i want to do that

never checked that i can never figure out how to do it. i know there is cn and via in Canada but trying to find out how to transfer in the us to a us railway i have no clue.
what is a us railway? amtrack?

Yeah, I guess it would be Amtrak for anything long distance within the US, or for making a connection into Canada (or into the USA) I was thinking, since CHicago is a major hub, and I am assuming Toronto or Montreal are as well (I know you're not necessarily from there, but you could probably figure out how to get to Toronto or Montreal from your location LOL), so it's likely there are some kinds of connections. Well, let's put it this way, it would make sense if there were... doesn't mean anyone did anything using common sense when building RR connections LOL. Amtrak also has something called "auto train" where your vehicle comes with you, but I am completely in the dark as to how that works or if it spills over into Canada or if Canada has something similar. A lot of "sunbirds" use it to flee to FLorida in the winter from the cold, cold north. Heh.

ETA: well how about that. THis is a bit old (2007, so timetables have surely changed in the meantime), but of interest. SOmeone actually asked pretty much this question only in reverse :p

Found a newer thread somewhere else, but the more I read the more oftne I see the word "Layover" and "overnight" mentioned in the same sentence... Flying sounds much less of a hassle at this point heh, and maybe, once you find some bargain fairs, cheaper to boot.

awesome i will start to do some research. at least we got time LOL

yep looks like the bus or train will take more then 20 hours with multiple transfers. i will keep looking in case a deal comes up with a faster traveling time.
plane seems the fastest way but it seems the cost is high at the moment.

Maybe I can actually get to GO this year?
@drusilla Yes, AMTRAK is the US railway system. I only live like 3 or so hours south of Montreal. I know I would have to go to NYC and transfer to a train that goes to Chicago. It's really not that horrible. I have done it before, don't remember how long it took but once you transfer in NYC to the long distance train, it's pretty nice because there are observation cars and a dinning car, along with a snack bar.

The crappy part is, I think for the train that goes to NYC, you can only have carry-on size luggage??
