Family/ Friends reactions?

My parents actually like my collection! My mom brings me ponies from the fleamarkets if she finds them.
My father in law collect stamps and coins so he knows the fun of collecting!

My grandma knows I like ponies and when I was at Walmart once with her I found Derpy Hooves plush and I'm like yeah I want in on that action so I put it in the cart and she was all like "Now don't let anyone know you play with these ponies" and I'm like Grandma pls they are collectors items

I would say very loud *Grandma I know YOU like ponies...but please put it back you are embarising me!!!* *Evil Grin*

I have super supportive family and friends. My mom pony hunts at the flea markets where she lives. She is amazing at it too. My husband always gets me pony stuff at either Christmas or my birthday (though most times the tag says its from my son lol). I've had friends give me ponies or at least let me know where they see if ponies are on clearance or something. Friends have asked if they could bring their kids over to see my pony room.....I always say yes. Coworkers have brought me ponies their kids have outgrown or if they see them at yard sales. I know I am very lucky to have such support.

My parents think I'm cute but my fiance thinks I'm weird and teases me relentlessly. Hes terrified of the ponies terrorizing him in the night and hes embarassed by them when guests come over. But that's ok because I tease him too and threaten to sick the ponies on him if he steps out of line. *evil grin*

Just stick your tongue in his ear and taste his delicious brain! YUMMERS!

You put some ketchup on shoestrings and they taste like spaghetti. Ponies freakin' love spaghetti.

And cotton candy brains!

My family and friends are all really supportive. I've been collecting for more than twenty years really and my parents just accepted that it is part of who I am. These silly pieces of brightly coloured plastic from the 80's make me smile and not be so depressed, SCORE! My dad (age 68) even has some of his OLDER friends looking for them now. It's pretty sweet.

As for my friends, they are all geeks in some fashion and have their own loves, so they don't judge at all. Every now and then I'll get a text message with a picture and price to see if I want the pony they found at a flea market or thrift store.

Over all, I think I'm pretty lucky in regards to how people react to the collection.
