Why in the world are they so high? I got a great deal on 1 of mine (thanks papercut352 :wink: ), otherwise I see them for 20 and up, at the fair in MN I saw one for 80 :shock: What's the deal?
 
I saw a personal seller on here offering one for $12 a while ago (the pink one), but it was gone within a few hours.


I'm dreading the day when I'm down to getting the fancy mermaids, colorswirl and flower fantasies. Why did they have to get everything in groups of 3? And so unusual, so there's such a huge demand? grrr.
 
I only have one, and I got it by a trade, they are just so expensive...

There's "a huge demand" for them ABrownCrayon? Hunh. I thought most collectors had little fancy for them, I've only seen one for sale and that was at the '04 MI Meet. Course, I've never browsed eBay....

I love them. Are they really $15-$80??
 
I didn't realize they were so htf either. I got the blue one when I was a child and the purple I got in a trade last year. I knew the colorswirl ponies were htf though, luckily I have 2 from childhood. Only need starswirl! Same for the flower fantasy ponies and most of the other 10th anniversary ponies, I got them as a kid. The only ponies from that time I didn't see in stores were the paradisde babies and teeny tiny twins.
 
I didn't think they were hard to find at all, I got the purple one (sadly, I forget her name at this moment) at a yard sale last year. o_O I love her. X3 I really like how they resemble Teeny Tiny Ponies, since they are one of my favorite sets.
 
they're probably somewhere between uncommon and HTF... plus I think they're *super* cute. I think they normally go for about $15-20, at least the ones I've seen. I've never bought 'em because they're rather expensive. x_x
 
Yeah, they can go a bit high on ebay. I think they are really cute (still has her original pink fancy mermaid pony from childhood). Back in the days when I used to sell alot of ponies on ebay, I sold some fancy mermaids and they went from around 20-35 dollars in fair condition.
 
It' sso sad the fancy mermaid ponies are so rare, i always wanted one when I was little and now they are so expensive I have no hope of ever getting one. :cry:
 
I had one when I was little, I think it was the purple one, but I don't really remember. I wish I still had her b/c I really love that set, but they are so expensive!

I have to agree with most of the others.
They aren't that usuall to come by and they are kind of speciall since they are mermaids.

I was lucky. I got them for $10 each or so. but this was like five years ago. The prices are way higher on every pony now then back then.

But $80?! Mimic doesn't even go that high, does she? What the heck? *blinks* Oiiiiy...
 
We had gotten all 3 when they were available in stores for Christmas and my birthday. Here is a pic of them :D

i had one that i got in a lot of CB's. she was mint - she then sold on ebay for $15

last i seen, that auction was at $41....

it ended at $80? HOLY crap
 
I've had mine since childhood also, although I lost the blue one and that greatly pisses me off considering I know she was here a few years ago.. :evil:

I was prepared for them to be in the 20 area when I started looking for them, though. I just knew that since they were a last year release and they were unique to the set, they would be harder to find.
 
When I was younger I didn't really play with mine much since she was a mermaid so it was kinda hard to play with her with the other ponies, but now I love her!

But when I tried to put her in water she fell on her face. She was the 'outcast' pony, LOL
 
Yeah! I used to bring her in the tub, and she always flopped over.. a very awkward pony to play with!

LOL MINE TOO! And the pool, and the bottom of the beach bags. Ugh. I was thinking of selling them recently, but held on to them ONLY because they were my childhood ones. I never liked them much and still dont lol I didnt think they were worth much more than $5 either! Anyone have a Mimic they wanna trade? <-LMAO ;)
