FIM Cosplay... thought I'd share

Woah! Sweet! Woo woo! All dressed up!

OMG that is soo cute! And clever too! I know what I'm being next year for Halloween ^_^ yes, definatly thanks for sharing

.......I am not impressed, perhaps with the colors, yes, I like the colors.

Okay... this inspired me to look a little deeper into cosplay. Some of what I found was total coolness... some? Not so much. EEEK! Wrote a blog post about it (caution, some images are just icky): Cosplay – kinda cool or creepy and weird? « TD 365

I'm really sorry that I took offence to your article.
I have been an active costumer/cosplayer for over 15 years.
There will ALWAYS be something someone doesn't like, but just because you don't like it doesn't make it "creepy and weird"

I'm not partial to the "human" style cosplay that you so much admire....but does that make it creepy, weird or wrong?? Nope. It just means *I* don't like it.

IMO, those applejack/rainbow dash costumes are PERFECT....they look like animated characters from the show have come to life. Its what *I* think a costume should look like. Does that mean its creepy and wrong?? Umm, nope. And they are NOT just "furries"They are people.
I am not limited to "furry"costumes. Infact, I am striving towards my first full body ones. That person had INSPIRED me by their fantastic costumes. I had never been blown away by such awesomeness.
It actually takes a lot more skill to be able to transform your body with underpadding (to make it look correct) and to make a proper body than it does to slap some pretty rainbow on a blue sweater with some goggles.

Perhaps, before you judge people you should think of how much hard work actually goes into a costume like that.

" Because seriously, anyone who thinks THAT is awesome? Well… I think they may need some serious help (and I do hope they have someone in their life qualified to give just that)."

I do not need help for thinking that any of those images are awesome. I think YOU need some help to address your clear desire to rip apart what you don't understand. Judge not, lest you be judged

I would love it if you'd weigh in ON the blog... just to offer a differing opinion. :) I'm not opposed to differing views. I stated mine, and I'd welcome you sharing yours - if you're so inclined.

Just as you are entitled to think that it's awesome.....she's entitled to think it's creepy. Just saying. ;)

Let me rephrase myself. I do not mind she thinks its creepy. I have a HUGE issue saying that people who do like it need "serious help"

Insults and opinions are two very different things, just saying. ;)
She doesn't HAVE to like it, no one does. But saying that people that do like it are you know....how did she put it...

Whoa Whoa! hold your horses!

Yes, Some People will find The Fursuits 'creepy' because it's very outside there realm of "normal" is to them. or even they may have a phobia about anything that is large furry and moving.

I'm kinda glad that I didn't read her blog, I mean, why would I? it just must be full of her simply shooting down other peoples hobbies and interests. /rant

The only thing that I don't like this kind of 'human form' cosplays is it looks "lazy" sure anyone can pick out from there closets and buy a wig and call it...."who-ever's as a human."
IF your gonna do that, then do better!
In my opinion, the outfits are a little to skimpy, it screams Fanservice. There was a better looking Rarity cosplay that had her in a beautiful gown, it spoke volumes about her character and thus was a better looking cosplay and was well put together.
