So, up here in the great white north there isn't any RIT dye (at least in my town). I did get some fabric dye called "Tintex" from my super awesome mother in law for my birthday! ^_^ It seems to be the same sort of thing, in case any of you other Canadian customizers are looking for the right dye. So here is the batch I just did in a colour called 'midnight blue'. I followed Lady Minty's dye tutorial (My Little Pony -- Lady Minty's Custom Persuasion). I did try to sand away the glue from the necks so that the dye would take, but I missed a couple spots on the Daddy and there is some inconsistency in both him and the baby G1. (Kind of blotchy - maybe I sanded to hard?) I found that the dye took really well to the G3, but I forgot that there was a magnet in her hoof and it made it hard to stir (I did it on my stove), LOL! I also tried a gradient and am fairly happy with the way she turned out.

From the photos they look great. That colour is gorgeous and looks to have taken really well to the ponies.

pretty!

:eek:mg:The colour looks great! It has all turned out well! Great job!

ooo i think they all turned out great.. that is a very gorgeous blue.

and hey if you ever want soem RIT just poke me; i've got a large stock pile that i rarely use (dye doesn't like me very much) and i can get it pretty cheaply. most of it's for sale in my "misc. sales" in my sig actually...

That is an awesome shade of blue. It looks like they turned out really well. I'm too scared to try and dye a pony. lol

Wow! :1745:

They look awesome! Especially that G3. The dye really did take well to the G3!

Super Cool!

She was a dingy baby Cuddles. I think she'll look good rehaired with DH Pacific Oean. :) And thanks all! I'm glad they turned out!
