Haha, well, I'm following Grace Ruby's suggestion and example. I haven't asked because I didn't think anyone could help, but I've been mega struggling with my person'as cutie mark design! I keep considering making her officially mark-less, as well, but I haven't committed to a thing.

So I guess I'll start with some of the basics. I made my persona here, Star Fantasy, with the intention of her being able to exist inside or outside of MLP, and generation non-specific. I know the each generation handles the marks in a different way, from nearly meaningless to pretty much entirely defining the character. I.... I naturally want to go for something meaningful, something the wholly encompasses me, but it's hard because... there's a lot.

If it's my values, some of my big values are creativity, freedom, emotions, emotional representations, and self-expression.

If it's my hobbies, my hobbies are namely drawing, designing, writing, and singing. I'll design just about anything and everything, from characters to clothes, buildings, computer cases, even spaceships. I am also trying to get into various other things, like making pony customs, woodworking, and sculpting/mold-making. I'd even considered blacksmithing for a little bit. Oh! And of course tarot and astrology, and divination too! And organizing (NOT cleaning).

If it's my interests I'm passionate about and the things I love, there's music (lots of music, but I'll list dream trance, house retro wave, and ambient), nature (especially rain and thunder, elements (ESPECIALLY water), holidays, seasons, and especially decorating for them. I also really love horror, particularly in games, as well as other genres like fantasy, sci-fi, and adventure. My favourite kinds of designs are often modern industrial, futuristic, and brutalist - very clean and structured, very neutral in colors but with intense angles and wild splashes of greens from plants to contrast. Cyberpunk, steampunk, and various other styles of punk clothing (and architecture) are also high on my list. I have also always loved the moon, the stars, and beautiful, especially fantastical depictions of space. I also really like dress-up games, being able to express oneself in clothing is huge! -Life is a Runway starts playing-

Star Fantasy obviously has so far ended up leaning heavily into the "fantasy" side with her design, but if I could use something that wasn't solely about the fantasy it would be better. So far her symbol ideas are full fantasy and dreams, though. These are the ideas I've had for her so far:
  • A white moon - white on white so it's intentionally hard to see. The idea would be that her symbol would have almost an emboss effect, so you could only see it in the right light. It would be a full moon, with craters in it.
  • A star, shining brightly.
  • Two crescent moons and a star, in blueviolet.
I also thought of straight-up space earlier, too, though I'm not sure how to do that one in a way that would look nice.

I like to think her mark should give a pretty rounded impression of all of it somehow. With depth, elegance, and intensity, something that can fit any of my moods or any of my internal worlds, be it sweet, elegant, or dark. Ah, I guess the last thing I can really add is that I don't want any kind of art tool as a mark. I feel they could represent me only really on a superficial level.

I'm not sure... if this is the right kind of stuff to share to help anyone else get an impression haha. Does anyone have any ideas? Side note, eye color and hairstyle ideas are also welcome!

First of all I love the drawing here, it's so flowy and majestic!

An idea that came to mind when reading this was sort of an "infinity" symbol? To represent the depth and variation of emotions and self expression within you but also the fact that this sona can exist inside and outside of the mlp world. It would also connect with themes of outer space, and inner world. You could incorporate other symbols such as celestial bodies, working with the infinity symbol as a base perhaps.

I think the idea you had for two crescent moons and a star in the middle sounds really good as well!

I hope any of these suggestions helped : )

Ohh! That's cool! I like that idea! And you're right, it would cover everything. Even the vibe, depending on how I drew it. I'll definitely think a lot more on this idea.

And thank you! Both for your suggestion and your compliment <3
