G4 Brushables Quality Declining?

It's no secret that the quality of G4's is not as high as previous generations, but I think it might be getting worse. I just picked up a Starlight Glimmer at Walmart the other day, when I pulled her out of the package I noticed her hair seemed different from my other G4 brushables. It feels more like the lower quality stuff they use on the Mcdonald's toys and the ends already look frizzy after being gently brushed once. Has anyone else found this with Starlight, Pursey Pink, or any of the newest releases?

I've read that Hasbro has moved their factories from China to India. I suspected when that happened that quality would drop further. I admit, I've purchased some new Ponies but have yet to open them up. I have so little space I thought they'd be safer in their packages. I'll try to crack one open and compare one of the newer ones to an older G4. Might be interesting to get one of the first G4s and look at it versus last years'. I think even that will show a quality drop.

That's very sad. To be honest, after G3, I really lost interest in the current line because it's SUCH a departure (IMO) from the origins of MLP. I mean, really, dolls that are half person-half pony? But I digress. The quality of the materials and work on the G1-G3 is what allows them to be collected and appreciated now. Children who do enjoy these new toys today will not have that same pleasure when they grow into adulthood because these things are going to literally disintegrate within 10 years...probably less!

The only g4 brushables I have to compare with are a Nightmare moon and two snowglobe Lunas (I have 3, only 2 are not in the box)
Their hair does feel kind of cheap, but I can't really say to what extent because I'm not good with desribing things. Also when I was giving away ponies on a local parent group (I was getting rid of all my g3s so I gave them all to local children) a lot of parents came to me and said that they had bought ponies for their kids and the pony's bodies broke in some way. One mother said their son's Rarity's body snapped in half when he tried to put a dress on her.
It'd be nice if they had higher quality brushable dolls that were a higher price marketed to collectors.

Speaking of quality, I saw this and it ticked me off...

I spotted a cute little Fluttershy set with a little house/handbag, a couple of dresses and whatnot. Really looked cute till I looked at the package. see those two little dresses? They're molded plastic. Okay, G3 did that, no biggee right? Except they are not full dresses! They're only one sided. If you put this dress on your Pony, she would be naked on the other side. WHY WOULD THEY EVEN DO THIS?

It maddens me! Poopsie and I just put it back. Half dresses. WHAT POOP.

C'mon, Hasbro. Pony up some better sets! Cheapskates.

Swiped pic from google! I didn't give them mah money so I had no pic. I am a stealer!

Hmm, I really don't know since DD was not into them when they first came out. Starlight Glimmer was the latest brushable I bought. Her hair feels okay and she's not big on brushing their hair, but I had little prob making it feel a bit silkier. Pantene works wonders.

Ugh. That just sucks. :{

oh boy that is disheartening to hear. No wonder I like G4s less and less. I haven't find pursey pink either in my neck of the woods. :/ The sad part is I still would buy the new brushables ponies but not the ones that have movable joints.

Someone should combine those suckers with BBE eyeballs and paint them up creepy for a stop motion horror-movie. It'd be a match made in the Not-So-Very-Nice- Place. :lolpony:

I saw those but didn't look closely--that's crazy! I mean, seriously, half a dress? I will not be buying this set, that's for sure.

The explore equestria ponies are a hit and miss. One of mine applejack has corse frizzy hair and not soft at all. But my twilight with the cup and book hair is super soft and not to bad about staying down with some water.

What I don't like is the creepy open mouths on some of the newer ones like fluttershy and rainbow dash.
Those open mouths pluse jointed leg is very FNAF to me. I love FNAF but not the creepy pony toy wants bees

I haven't had much experience in loose G4's, so I hadn't noticed. Although I also haven't gotten any of the latest released ponies, so that's definitely something to keep an eye out for.

The G4 toy line is just one big hit and miss, sadly. All of my G4s (I have 26 exactly - yes I just counted) have pretty nice hair and bodies, there's been some issues - mainly with purple/pink ponies - I have a Luna in particular who's head and body are completely different shades. Overall though I've come across none with paint issues, though I know a lot of people have. As for hair? Well, I compared my oldest (first release Twilight Sparkle with no fringe) to my newest (Sunset Shimmer, though she's about 2 years old) and a few inbetween and couldn't really feel a difference in mains or tails. Apparently some of the newer G4s have poly tails, which is why they feel so nasty but don't take my word on that.
Anyway, I was kinda rambling there.

Yes, the head/body colour differences are really blatantly obvious. Feathermay is another that suffers from this. Even in the package, her head is a distinctly different colour.

Oh yeah, my Feathermay has a completely different shade too. Luckily the spot my ponies are in is kinda dark, so it's not as noticable.
