These two are a few more of my Christmas customs for this year. I tried a few new tricks with these two - first time trying to curl Restoredoll hair and first time using these kind of wings. Overall, I'm pretty pleased with how they turned out although if I had to do it again I think I would try for more white in Princess Peppermints mane and tail since even though they were on a one on one ratio here the red easily overwhelmed the white. Al well, live and learn. Comments always appreciated.
Gloria - DG fakie baby, found these cute little wings in the doll making section at a local craft store. The wings are gold lightweight metal stuff. Her hair is gold cord which gives it lovely curls but has the down side of not being combable. Still not 100% sure on how well I like her symbol yet.
Princess Peppermint - G3 MGR type of pony, I added the little thing around her front leg since after I had molded the saddle onto her I noticed a yellowish stain on that leg which didn't yield to all of my usual methods - this was a coverup compromise. I was very nervous about the curls - I looked up some how-to info for curling restoredoll hair but after all the work of rehairing her I didn't want to dip that hair in boiling water and ruin it all somehow. Her curls have been done by wrapping strands of hair around cut up bits of plastic straws, securing the hair around the straws with bobby pins and then dipping the hair in boiling water for about 5 seconds, rinsing it under cold water for a few seconds, then repeating this two more times. The first time probably did it for the curls but I wanted to be sure that they were set but not fried. It's so unnerving dipping hair in boiling water!
But I'm happy with how it turned out - so sproingy (not sure that's even a word). :lol:

I love MGR ponies in general, though. She's beautiful! Lovely hair.
