Hey everybody!

........can't believe it took me this long to make an account here.

My name is Nikki, and I am a child of the 80's. I was the caretaker of a huge MLP herd in my childhood - just looking at the compilations of photos of the entire G1 catalog, I can pull out and recognize which ones used to be mine. :) I still have SS Magic Star and 4-Speed, pretty well played with and with matching haircuts.

I started re-collecting when I moved out of my home town my sophomore year of college. I did a whole slew of adult things like getting a cell phone, a checking account...and a debit card. And then I got myself into trouble. I discovered online auctions and paypal, and managed to amass myself a pretty good haul of ponies in a fairly short period of time.

...and then I had to sell them all back because I was broke. Lesson learned (I hope). :winkpony:

I pulled my measley collection of 10 ponies out from under the bed the other week, after snagging a bag of 3 at a yard sale for $2 (Peachy, Medley, and Seawinkle!). I'm looking forward to raiding a friend's attic for her and her sisters' childhood ponies, and I recently negotiated a questionably awesome find on Craigslist.

I hope to take some good pics of the herd soon, but I'll share this pic of my yard sale find after they'd had a good bath and brushing.

P.S. I do have a thread up in the General Discussion for a price check on my Craigslist find - if anyone could help, I'd really appreciate it!

Here's my yard sale girls. :smilepony:

Greetings and hello's! I am Michelle Lysyk from Calgary, Canada! Take care! Enjoy the forum!

Hullo there and welcome to the board! A lot of us have had to rebuild herds. It's a both sad and joyful thing. We mourn those Ponies we left behind (or were kidnapped, stolen, charity binned) but there's a little thrill retrieving a Pony we had had and restoring its place in our little herds.

I hope you find all the Ponies you long for here, and in addition make many new friends!

Your yard sale finds are great looking! Man, I wish some of the sales I go to would gimme some Ponies. All my neighbours ever sell is jelly jars and old towels. Phooey.

I got very lucky on the yard sale front - one of the towns here had what they call a "Never-ending Yard Sale" where everyone signs up to have their yard sale on the same weekend. I lost count of how many places we stopped at, and this one house had the one lonely bag of ponies. Jackpot!

That's a lucky find! I can't find ponies at yard sales anymore. It's like they all went to Ebay and online Goodwill auctions. Welcome to the TP and happy pony hunting!

Thanks, everybody! It'll be nice to squee over ponies with people who understand, and give my poor long-suffering roommate a break. :winkpony:
