Okay, so this seller MASSIVELY overcharged me for postage...But i got a good laugh from their packaging skills.

Hmm...i wonder what on EARTH this parcel could be? xD

I can't believe they charged me over £2 for just wrapping it in brown paper like that, when the postage only cost £0.75 ._. But i laughed so much when it arrived xD So it was worth it.

Has anyone received any packages wrapped even worse than that?

Once was much worse.
Bought $100 of MLP from the USA. Seller charged $40 shipping on the lot. Sent it SURFACE! Added the $40 shipping to the purchace price and "valued" the lot for $140 on customs. (which, that $40 alone meant an additional $8.50 in fee's. So I was taxed on his gross shipping overcharge). The box cost under $10 to send. >.<

Oh the ponies had zero padding. and suffered damage. I was not a happy collector that day. I swaer you get better "customer service" at yardsales sometimes. LOL.

I don't mind a slight "handling" overcharge ($1-$2). esp when I win things super cheap like 99 cents - $3 auctions. If they don't take a bit extra for shipping, I'm sure they're losing money selling to me once shipping is paid, ebay takes it's cut and paypal scoops out their fee's.

Ever since ebay switched to those star rating's though, sellers have been *much* better about shipping. I've gotten random partial refunds a number of times now. "hey this cost less then we thought. here's $7 of your $$ back". I've never had to leave anything less then 5 stars. o_O

I'm glad you have gotten a laugh with your parcel though! Hopefully the contents were well protected.

That sounds horrible o___o i would have had an Amaris rage explosion at that. I've had so many bad eBay experiences that I'm paranoid and suspicious every time i buy something from there :p

Personally, i get almost neurotic about packaging parcels to send to people. I wish these sellers would realize that, really, it is a lot less effort to package things properly and charge fairly than it is to deal with angry/upset buyers.

Thankfully, the pony i got was just fine. It was UK Honeycomb and i was very pleased with her once i got her cleaned up ^_^ She only cost me £3

lol you should put that in the show and tell forum

I can't believe someone is that cheap. I wouldn't be suprised if a seller wrapped a pony in toilet tissue and scotch tape. I know I've had bad experiences in the past but not recently. I've been lucky and bought from the nicest of people

Honeycomb is going in show and tell soon once her hair is dry :D She's a very pretty girl.

I've had ponies arrive wrapped up in a plastic bag with holes in before...people have no shame :p

Come to think of it, the most creative, and effiecent packing, has been from the UK and Australia for me. I bought a number of things from both places recently, and have been pleasently surprised overall.

A sleeping bag I bought from the UK was cleaverly wrapped in heavy gauge plastic. (like tarp almost) really smart idea. kept everything compact and protected. A bunch of MOC's that were bought on Aussie ebay for me were wonderfully wrapped. Each in bubbles, and she arranged everything in the box like a puzzle not one square inch of space was unused in that box! :)

Sorry, off topic slightly, but that just came to mind.

*waves the union jack around* Hurrah for UK sellers 8D I've also found that sellers from Aus are very helpful and friendly, though i have to say some of my worst experiences have been from US sellers on eBay o.o'

Not a pony experience but i brought a pocket dragon off ebay... the item was 1.99 the packaging was £6.50 ... and i had a total hissy fit when it arrived. Rattling about in its box with the tiniest amount of bubble wrap. I was seriously lucky that it got to me in one piece. But i was really fuming,,, the postage here was £1.69

Gee, I wonder what's in that package AM? Is it a bracelet or a video game controller?

OH, A PONY!, you say. I never would have guessed. ;)

The worst packaging I ever had was a pony wrapped in a black garbage bag with my address taped on it, much like your parcel. It was just such a lack of effort that it put me off before I even opened it.

In the last few months I've taken to buying nice small gift boxes to ship in as I can get them for the same price as buying a box at the post office or a bubble mailer, yet they are alot sturdier and generally people are much happier to receive an item that has been sent with some care and thought. It's a couple of dollars, but so worth it.

Wow. go figure. Its funny because I got a pony in the mail today wrapped up the same way!!! ugh, thankfully the shipping was FREE!!! yay, 'free is for me'. but seriously, ebay people dont understand how the mail people toss our stuff around.... ugh.
