Hi everyone! :)

I got interested in ponies because of customs and that’s one of the reasons why I’m here. I’ve done a couple of customs and am hoping to get some advice on baits (checking that it’s OK to use what I think is OK for baits), some help identifying a few things and also to maybe do a few trades and perhaps buy and sell a few things. Also looking forward to chatting with fellow fans of the ponies and seeing lots of cute small equine toys, customs, art etc. :)

I enjoy sewing and crafts so as well as the customs I’ve also made some pony themed crafts with cross stitch, hama beads and shrink plastic and have plans to make other things as well. I’ve made a couple of pony cosplays too.

I watch Friendship is Magic, I like animation and think some of the characters are great. :) Some of my favourites are Fluttershy (who my husband says reminds him of me), DJ Pon3 (I love her hair and as I have problems with my voice it’s kinda neat to see a pony like that too), the Cutie Mark Crusaders, Derpy (her clumsiness reminds me a bit of Colette from Tales of Symphonia, one of my favourite games) and as a sci-fi fan who likes Doctor Who I’m amused by Dr Whooves and am a fan of Discord for obvious reasons as well. :) There’s lots to like about many of the other characters too I think.

I have a small-ish collection of ponies and pony themed things. It’s nearly all G4 stuff although I wouldn’t object to having a few ponies from other generations in my little herd if they’re designs that I like. My collection is made up of a sorta random selection of things that I like rather than trying to get complete sets although I do have the set of the brushables of the mane 6 from G4 with the ribbons with their cutie marks on them because I thought the ribbons looked rather cool.

As well as the ponies I like lots of animated shows and movies, sci-fi as I mentioned, videogames, I’m a bit of a geek. :) I love reading too, fiction, non-fiction, manga and I’ve recently started reading the G4 pony comics.

Apologies that that’s a bit rambly. :)

Welcome and thanks for joining, you're gonna love it! I recently came back from a long break on the boards so we are kinda in the same boat!

Also if you'd like advice on customs/baits, then you've come to the right place! Though I am not one of them, there are plenty of experts on that subject here that love doing the same thing that you do!

Anyways, I am so glad you've come to the trading post! I've always loved it because everyone here is so welcoming and it's a lot of fun to talk with so many people who share your love of ponies-it's like a little family! :satisfied:

Thanks.

I figured here would be a good place to ask questions about baits for customs. :) I don't want to end up using a pony for one that someone would then go "why would you use that for a bait?!" Don't want to cause any :madpony: faces. I love the pony smilies here, they're adorable! :)

It's lovely to find friendly and welcoming places to talk about hobbies, so I'm glad to have found a pony one.

Hullo! Sorry to be late to welcome you, but I'm delighted you've joined us!

Quite a few of us are sci fi g\fans, as well as Doctor Who fanciers. I think you'll find you fit in very nicely! I'm an old school Whovian, and Tom Baker is my fave. Which Doctor is yours?

No worries, thanks for the warm welcome.

Getting to talk about sci-fi as well as ponies, fantastic. :) Do you have any particularly favourite series other than Doctor Who? Apart from the obvious Star Trek I also like Stargate and Quantum Leap (which doesn't seem to get enough love for such a great show) and quite like quite a few others too. :) I watched the new X-Files episodes with my husband when they were shown over here recently and thought some of them were pretty good but haven't watched the original ones, that's something I should get round to I think, we have the DVDs. Finally getting around to watching the last series of Continuum although I'm not enjoying it as much as I did the first series of that.

Tom Baker's one of my favourites too. Particularly with Sarah Jane and K9. :) There's something that's just very right about him that suits the character I think which is probably why he's my favourite of the classic Doctors. From the new ones probably David Tennant, although I wasn't that keen on all of the episodes with him in them he was in some of my favourites from the new ones, including The Girl in the Fireplace. The latest series with Peter Capaldi has had some interesting episodes, and having watched some of the early first Doctor episodes a little while ago when they were repeated on TV it's interesting to spot some of the traits of the First Doctor that Capaldi's Doctor seems to have in common with him.

Hey there! Whereabouts in England are you? If you're looking to delve into G1's a little bit, then I have some cheap ones going. Just let me know. And welcome! I've not been on here long, despite collecting G1's my entire life, but everyone on here all seem really nice and always there to help xx

Hi

South of England specifically.

I'm not looking for any particular G1s at the moment but I suspect I'll probably end up with one or two eventually. :lolpony: Do you know if there are any with sewing or craft related symbols?

This forum does seem a nice, friendly place, indeed.

Knew I'd probably end up finding at least one pony from each generation I liked the design of when I joined this forum. :lolpony: I think Patch and Buttons certainly count as craft/sewing related ones and Ribbon too seems to make sense to me.

Buttonbelle from G4 is on my list of ponies I'm looking out for, non so soft Buttons looks like a relation perhaps. :)

I know Brighton. Been quite a long time since I've been there myself though. Do you see many ponies there?
