1. Are flutter pony manes usually thin?
2. How to I defrizz pony hair? I've tried boiling the hair,a straightening iron, even a regular iron! I've even tried curling it to hide it, but, it's cut so it doesn't look good. Should I rehair her?
3. Where do I buy hair? I can't buy hair online, can I buy some somewhere else?
4. Are there other things I can use to rehair ponies? If then what else can I use?

What should i do? :sadpony::sadpony::sadpony::sadpony:

I don't know about the other questions, but to defrizz you can wet the hair, leave conditioner in it for a while (I usually leave it in for about 20 minutes) then rinse it and allow it to air dry.

try a beauty shop that has wig conditioner or wig defrizz products - we have a place called Sally's that had it for $5 so it's a bit more expensive than the human stuff but designed for nylon :) I've been happy.

Also if you just use regular conditioner (something for "repair split ends" ideally) leave it on for DAYS not just minutes... then wet the hair again, reapply and flat iron with sufficient water/conditioner to help the hair fuse back = that's really helped me get the frizz out of even brazil and peru MLP hair

if you don't order from dollyhair.com or retrodolls.com sometimes you can luck out with folks selling hair here or at the arena :) I don't know if there are stores per say, but folks have often bought cosplay type wigs (not the real deal, but I mean like neon colors or with glow in the dark hair which is always out of stock online...) and repurposed them. Of course the main obvious source of hair is MLP tails from bait ponies :)

and of course you can use other materials :) yarn makes for great perfume puff style rehairs and people have used embroidery thread or even beaded their pony hair. Depending on the look you are going for - anything from ribbons, to feathers, to dyed wool to tinsel to hempthread (cool beach head look with that stuff) can be made to serve for pony hair

so it is up to you if you more want to restore or customize

The My Little Pony Preservation Project

fardreamer has done a great site about restoring ponies :) and there are folk here who will gladly rehair your flutter if you choose to go that route (although it's not that hard to do oneself)

so have fun giving your MLP a second life :)

ok cool, has anyone actually tried making a cross between a flutter pony and a perfume puff? i wanna see what it looks like first before I try it out.

*EDIT* How do i remove really stubborn heads? the pony i want to rehair has a reeeeally stubborn one, is this normal in flutter ponies?

You can boil some water and stick the ponys neck under it, softening the plastic. You could also use a hair dryer to heat up the neck ring. You could also use an xacto knife but if be really careful about cutting yourself and ruining the pony. Hope this helps and good luck rehairing :3

I was looking at some alternate material rehairs and saw...

That's so Pinkie Pie! Very party!

Claire's Accessories & Boutique usually always has a consistent supply of multi-colored hair extensions/wigs/hair accessories. I'd hit them up for hair though it may be more costly than ordering online.

For other alternate hair options, yarn. Yarn, ribbon trimmings, and yarn yarn yarn. Look at your local Wal*Mart, Michaels, or any other craft store that carries trimmings/yarns, and you'll get so many ideas, your head may spin.
And you can easily glue fur on manes!

Use a machete for the stubborn necks. (lol not not really just joking on that one) For stubborn necks, I usually have to brave the exacto blade until it works...

Only methods for re-hairing I know of, are the wire method and the tool method. Both should be searchable on the customs board here under the tutorials section.

I've failed at the de-frizzing so I'll leave that one alone.
