Got a huge boxlot of G3's off ebay. As I'm cleaning them up, I notice some heads turn really easily, and I don't really see evidence of glue. In the G1's a head that turned was 'loose', a flaw, as none of them had turning heads. Is it the same with the G3's, or are some of them made with turnable heads? I've found the same poses, not same ponies just same poses, with turning and non-turning heads. Now I'm curious!

Some were made with turning heads. I have a bunch with turning heads. Most of them don't have magnets; however, some do. It isn't a flaw, at least I don't think it is. Pretty sure they are supposed to be like that.

I would agree, the ones I have with turning heads seem to be intentional. I like the turning heads!

The early ones have glued on heads and magnets in the feet. The later ones have holes in the feet and loose heads

Turning heads did come with magnets. Most of my G3 collection has turning heads and magnets.

The first half of the G3s did not have heads that turned, but the latter half of G3s ALL had heads that turned. I much prefer the ones that turn, but of course some of the rarest, best G3s are from the beginning of the line, so in the end, it doesn't matter to me too much. If I love the pony, I love the pony. ;)
