Help-trying to recover my stolen ponies

I just joined this forum hoping for some help. Almost all of my G1 ponies were stolen about 8 years ago, and I would love to get them back. I had over 30 ponies, and now I only have 16. I don't know why my entire collection was stolen, some taken were some of my favorites, and I miss them. Most of my ponies were marked with my initials on the bottom of their hooves in black permanent marker-either OLS on one hoof (not always the same hoof) or one letter was written on each hoof. If you have one of these or have seen them, please let me know! My list is rather long-if you want to know which ones are missing I can definitely post them. In the meantime, there are a few ponies I wanted back when I was a kid, and would love to find them and get them now. I am an original pony collector-I started when I was seven in 1984. Two of the stolen ponies were two of my original ponies my collection started with. I only want the original My Little Ponies.

Welcome to the MLPTP. :) I'm sorry to hear that your ponies were stolen, was your house broken into?
What area /town were they stolen from?

EDIT to add - You could also post a "wanted to buy" thread in the market place area if you wish :)

In the meantime I hope we can find out more about where those ponies might be now. Many a pony has an initial on the foot, I wish you luck :)
 
Thank You! I live in Big Timber, Montana-the house was broken into. The thieves took a lot of stuff, not just my ponies. I figured it was about hopeless to try and recover any of them, then I came across this website.
 
Thats awful, there is nothing worse than knowing someone has been through your belongings, and even worse the fact they have taken what is precious.
 
Wow, that really sucks. I'm sorry to hear that. I live in California, so they are probably aren't anywhere near here, but I do hope you can get some back!
 
Thanks-I don't know where they would have ended up-if they were sold online-they could end up anywhere.

I'm sorry you went through this. While moving someone stole a tub of over 200 Ponies off my front porch, including all my childhood faves. It was heart wrenching, so i know how you feel. I hope yo can recover some. It doesn't hurt to look, who knows maybe karma will shine on you!

were you able to recover them/any?
 
No, whoever took them must've sold them off eventually. I moved out of the county, so I couldn't even really look for them at yard sales or the flea market.

I am very sorry to hear that. Of all things to take from someone. And it's not exactly a priority for law enforcement either
 
Nah, they just sorta shrugged and acted like "Who cares". It was over a decade ago and I still miss 'em. Ah well. I've acquired new Ponies since then!

Your Ponies could still be recovered though, since it's very recent. I'd look on Craigslist and such!
 
I haven't seen any with initials on them, but I've been buying a lot of auctions recently and if any should turn up I will happily return them!

So sorry to hear this happened to you, I hope you can recover some of your collection!
 
Thanks everyone for your kind words and support and keeping your eyes out for me. I know it's a long shot, but you never know. Getting my own ponies back would be ideal, but if I can at least replace them, that will work too. I have three nieces that would enjoy playing with them, and I still enjoy looking at them. :)
 
why would someone want to steal your beloved ponies!? I guess they thought they could be worth money. :( I'm so sorry that happened, I hope you can find them again. If I see any with those initals I will let you know!
 
Off-topic, but I remember someone sharing a story (years ago) that someone went into her apartment, stole ponies off a shelf, and ended up throwing them into the complex's pool.

She suspected it was someone in maintenance who intended to keep them, then freaked out.

People do the darndest things :(
 
Im so sorry to hear your beloved ponies were stolen :( I know exactly how you feel.
Years ago our basement was broken into where I (at the time) stored all my collections along with a whole bunch of useless junk. At the time it was just too much to go through, but later on when I started to bring it all back up into the appartment I realized alot of MIB G3's and MIB Bratz had been stolen along with other things too. Untill this day I can't for my life figure out why people would steal toys. Unless they are collectors and know the value of the toys in question then they can't possibly look like anything worth stealing o_O But yet people do >.< Some are so rotten :<

I haven't seen any ponies with those initials under their hooves (Surprisingly few of my ponies have initials under their hooves) , but if I ever do spot one with those initials I will definitly contact you :)
 
I am so sorry-you would think by now law enforcement would start doing something. I understand they aren't necessarily high dollar items-but it seems to happen often enough to make it worth checking out? How many of us here now have said our ponies have been stolen?
