Help with wings

I have seen some beautiful wings here and am really wanting to try it out. Can someone give me some advice/tutorial on wings for a first timer? I've never done wings before but I gotta start somewhere right.

I haven't tried wings on a pony yet but I know you can use a variety of sculpt materials. I think most people go with apoxie. For sturdier wings, you can sculpt over a support structure like a wish mesh that you anchor into the pony's back (ask your craft store about the mesh. I'm sure they can help you find what you're looking for). I'd start small; make sure one wing isn't bigger or much more extended than the other so your pony balances afterwards. this is a link to the wing tutorial that I follow to do wings. I hope this helps with the basic structure then when it comes to the sculpting I have added another favorite tutorial. I hope that you can get good use out of them as I have.
