hello everyone,
a few months ago I found this Celestia plushie in my shed (where my mother stores all of my old things) and I'd really like to clean her.
here's the issue: she was in a bag that mice got into, in which they ate away at her hair and crown...

how exactly do I disinfect, clean, then restore her ? I've only held her using gloves so far as I'd rather not touch her. i can live with the state of her hair and crown, im mainly concerned with disinfecting her and making her soft again.

please let me know if you can help, any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I hope you are having a lovely day ! :Flutter: :purpleheart:

Check out the tutorial there, I would think the same way to keep the hair from getting all matted and tangled. Oxyclean is a good disinfectant

If your comfortable putting her in the washing machine there’s a product called spray and wash that’s great for getting out stains even ones that’ve been sitting a while

there’s a lot of things to do but one thing I would personally recommend is replacing her stuffing at some point. You’ve just got to seam rip her down the back, remove the stuffing, then add new stuffing. Stuff the legs first! I used to work at build a bear, and trust me, the insides get nasty even if they don’t come into direct contact with the outside world.

But don’t put her in the dryer after unless it’s just on air not heat, the material those wings are made of sometimes gets crunchy in the dryer :)

Should be fine to just throw her in the wash and she'll come out good as new.

Not really sure why people get so worried about mice stuff it's not that hard to clean.
Yeah I learned that first hand after we stored my aunt's Christmas decorations in our storage shed. She had one of those homemade flour ornaments and we didn't know. Mousey had a snack but the ornaments cleaned up easily with some clorax wipes.

thanks for letting me know !! I would have just thrown her in the washing machine so I'm glad you told me lol. she is a build-a-bear so I'm definitely taking your advice :satisfied:

it's mainly because it's just kinda gross. the mice that got into my shed also peed and pooped on a lot of things, and I want to do everything possible to kill any germs or possible residue left from it.

That’s great news that she’s a build a bear!!! You can take her back to a store to be re-stuffed for free

She's not a build a bear I have one of those and I got mine new from Walmart years ago, the tag said she was an exclusive. No idea what the brand is anymore though.
