How do you keep track of whom you have?

Do you keep a spreadsheet on how much you spent on each pony? Do you have a check list and just mark them off as they come in? Or do you amazingly have every pony memorized?? :p

Me? I have a spreadsheet with each year as a different worksheet. And all the special pony groups are together such as Perfectly or Winter Series and I highlight them as I get them with how much I spend on each pony. And if they are MIB/Loose and w/charm. (I'm G3 collector.)

Does anybody else keep an organized inventory of who they have in their collection? I'd be interested to see what ya do!!

i have memorized who i have. for the most part. i have a spread sheet for theos i sell and who i sell them too, and a sort of abstract log of people who i've baught from.
 
I've also memorized who I have, and they're all in sight in case I don't remember someone.

I also have a list of people I traded with, who we traded for or who I sold to and what I sold to. I don't think I write down any prices.

I also have a wishlist so I see who I need but I constantly update it when I go through mlpcollector's site and see a pony in there looks cute now even though it didn't look as cute before.
 
I'm so disorganized. For the G1s I generally just "know" what I have and what I don't. I have A LOT of G1s(over 500 at last count), and occationally my memory is faulty, but in general I know what I have and what I need. The same goes for the piles of accessories I have. I have ended up with a few doubles of things, but I can keep it straight most of the time.

I do have a checklist for the G2s(I have most of those) because I get a bit confused about the re-releases. I keep losing the list though, so I end up just remembering it all anyway.

With the G3s I keep *very* up to date about what has been found and what's coming out and I always know what to look for(and usually where) when I go pony hunting. I just get 'em all as I see them. I never keep a want list for the G3s since it would change constantly. I just keep all that info in my head.

I would like to get some sort of list going for my collection, but it's just so big(500+ G1s, 100+ G2s, and probably 200+ G3s, plus accessories, stickers, brochures, backcards, playsets, etc.) that it would take me months just to get it all together.
 
I have every pony I own in my memory. Yep, I know the names of every pony I have. Of course, I can't remember anything else with all those pony names... :?

I've memorized most of mine.... 'cept the baby sea ponies... eventually I will memorize those too... either that or buy the rest of the set in the same day so I have no reason to remember names! lol
 
I have fact sheets in Word. They document their name, their looks/symbols, where they came from/who gave them to me, any accesories/playsets (which I will be giving thier own sheets), and in the case of the G3s, the personality and location I have given them.

oh man if only I was so organized..

I collect G1s and I know most of what I have, except for how many dupes of each. I know I have two Tooties, two Whizzers, two Sky Fliers and two Starshines, but Fireflys and Blossoms I always lose track of. And I think mine breed.

I know almost all the names.. the specific "weird" sets I have trouble remembering, like my two Secret Surprises and most of the SHS (which I have nearly half of). I also have printed the list off of Dream Valley, crossing off the petites and dream beauties so I can focus on regular ponies. I just love going through it and filling in more bubbles, but it's pretty discouraging seeing all those empties =)

My G2s I'm constantly looking up again.. the only one I can remember is Ivy, lol. My G3s are mostly easy.. Butter Drop, Breezie, Fluttershy, Butterscotch, and.. umm.. three more =) I do know (and have) all the McD's for both US sets, though.
 
have made a excel-list with pictures of all G1 ponies I know. At the moment, I have over 1200 G1 ponies in my list. In the line of each pony I put a yes or no, if I have the pony or not. I don´t notice the price, which I have payed for a pony. That would only tell me, that I have payed too much for a pony, again.

For my G2 and G3 ponies, I don´t have a list. But I have only around 5 G2 and 20 G3. I´m mainly collecting G1 ponies.
