How HTF are the 2008 Valentine ponies?

I was wondering, how hard-to-find are the 2008 Valentine ponies? I know that I had some trouble finding them (I did finally find them though), being that the two Targets closest to me didn't have them (even though I kept looking and looking), although two Targets farther away did have a few of them. Walmart, Toys R Us, and K-Mart didn't have them at all. Have they been just as hard to find for other people? I'm wondering if they can be categorized as "hard-to-find" ponies.

Also, do people tend to see Sweetie Belle way more than Pinkie Pie? Usually, when I do see the Valentine ponies, they have a bunch of Sweetie Belle, but only one Pinkie Pie, if they have any at all. Do you guys think that Valentine's Pinkie Pie is more rare than Sweetie Belle? Do you know if Pinkie Pie was short-packed in each shipment, or is it possible that maybe Pinkie Pie is just selling better because she is more popular?

Also, concerning the hard-to-find/rareness factor of this year's Valentine ponies... Do you think the Valentine ponies are too rare to customize, or do you think it's okay to customize them? I'm tempted to customize (or find someone to customize) Sweetie Belle into a G3 version of Gusty, Glory, or Moondancer (heh, can't decide which one). However if she's too rare or or hard-to-find, then maybe I should wait to see if the regular release of Sweetie Belle (the non-Valentine's version) would be more common once it comes out.
 
I just got the two at my WalMart. From what I could tell, and most of the display boxes were full, they are equally packed. Great idea about the customs! I think I'll go buy a couple more white unicorn bodies tomorrow! I could even dye one the perfect color to be a G3 Mimic! I don't have G1 Mimic :(
 
I found them the other day at one Walmart, and they only had Pinkie Pie left. Funny thing was it was at the only Walmart that also carried the LPS Valentine tubes. I guess that particular store must have received it's Valentine's Day merchandise before any of the others around here.
 
I haven't been able to find them at any of the stores in my area. I am going to make my rounds tomorrow hoping they have finally showed up.

Same here, but I'll be going into town Thurs. on errands and I'm going to try both Target and Walmart then, but so far, no luck here at all! Sigh....
 
They are hard to find round here. Out of 10+ targets nearby, only 2 "may" carry them. They never showed up at the others yet. I went to Walmart today that usually has tons o ponies, and they didn't have any Valentines ones.
At first I thought there were hardly any Pinkie Pies, but as I shopped around I found tons of her in a different area. They were putting ponies near the register, seasonal area, and toys section at that one target.

I wouldn't customize the Vday sweetie belle. There is another version of her coming out next that is the same except for the shading and graphics going up her legs. She will also probably be $1 cheaper retail, too.
 
I went to my Walmart this week and they didn't have anything MLP for Valentine. I've been to 4 Targets in my area and all of them had them. I think each store may have gotten maybe 4 or 5 boxes of them because now I can't find them ANYWHERE!! I was lucky to find an extra Sweetie for another member here. I was about to give up! Well, that was Saturday and now the shelves are bare.
 
I went to Walmart on Sunday to get the Valentine's LPS tubes and thought I wasn't going to be able to find them. They were not in the toy section. An employee told me they were in with the Valentine's Day stuff and sure enough there they were. They had lots of both Sweetie Belle and Pinkie Pie, but I only bought Sweetie Belle. She will be my V-Day present along with a trip to the Oregon Dunes. I think she's really pretty and will remain MIB along with my 2007 Snow'El.
 
I have only been able to find the pinkie pie one in my area, I saw her at the toys r us but didnt buy her. No sweetie belle at all.
 
Hmm... Perhaps I'll run to WalMart today and pick up a bunch more, just to have for trades or whatever. I must have walked into the aisle not 10 minutes after they were put out, there were tons of both. Actually, they were on the opposite side of the aisle from the ponies; I almost walked away but I turned around and they were in my face!

I won't customize any of them; I was thinking that's a LOT of paint to wipe off a white pony anyway!

I found them at one of my Targets, but the other Target only had Pinkie Pie (and quite a few of them!)

I did see them at a local grocery store yesterday.

And I did pick up an extra pair, just in case people need them.
 
I haven't seen any of the Valentine's ponies in my Targets yet. They had the other new Valentine toys. I haven't tried Walmart yet. I might have to look again today and maybe pick up an extra set if they're there. If I don't find them, can someone get a set for me please?

I found them today at my Walmart, they had quite a few set up. I did pick up a second set to sell at cost for someone that can't find a set.

I haven't been actively looking for them, but I have been trying to find the rainbow rerelease sets (which I can't find), and I haven't seen them around here. They must have all been bought up.
