I've never done this, but I heard that you can dip a qtip in acetone, then in red paint, and make little circles in the spot you want colored. I guess the acetone thins the paint out?

Stick her in an embarrassing situation or whisper something tasteless in her ear?

*crickets chirp*

Sorry.

In all seriousness, careful dry-brushing is another alternative if you can't get the acetone to work. I think, though, that some of the best-looking blush comes from airbrushes. Oh, if only they weren't so expensive...!

OH! I remembered another way (borrowed from doll customization)!! I think it depends on the base color of the pony for this one regarding how well it will work, you can use powdered chalk pastels and apply it like human make-up. Just make sure that the pastels don't have oil in them!! Also that you seal it afterward so it doesn't rub off.

Good luck!!

i made two ponies with different methods..
this was made with a qtip and acrylics, i just dipped it into the paint and rubbed mostly all of it onto a piece of paper before i circeled the rest on the pony.. but i recomend trying it on a bait first..

and this one i used real make-up blush for (bit on a qtip and so on... guess it won´t work on the bare plastics.. but was kinda ok on the painted pony)

Just tell Ice Crystal to walk by and glance at her with his beautiful blue Mountain Boy eyes. :inlove:

i seem to remember when i was younger having this sort of...mini airbrush thing that you could pump air to with a thing that went under your foot....i cant remember what it was called, it was in some sort of set for something but that would have been so useful....
i suppose the only other way is to invest in an airbrush, Games Workshop do a fairly cheap one that you can use with compressed air canisters, im not sure how fine you could get detail with them but they are used for painting miniatures so they cant be that bad. i think they are about $20 if i remember rightly.
beyond that all i can suggest is really really watering down the paint and making a patch of water where you want the blush and putting a dot of the paint in the centre of it so it gently gradiates towards the edges....hard to explain but it might work

what i've done is put a small dab of red paint where you want it. then take your acetone to it. the red will not 100% come off with the acetone.

Haha... I thought it was going to be a joke at first. I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one. :)

i will have to buy some sort of airbrush, it seems to make your life easier XD
problem is this is for the restoration contest, so i won't have it in time and i don't have money for it atm, but... one day it will be mine

i'll have to try this then, only thing i have is nailpolish remover, i'll see

yeah, i thought it sounded funny :p hehe

If you go to walmart get the 100% acetone. I think its like 1.00 for a small bottle and not even 2.00 for a big bottle. :)
