G1 How would pony fans react to a g1 reimagining?

So I discovered that the retro Tom & Jerry cartoon got a Japanese remake the other day, and got to thinking about the “what if’s” If the “anime” treatment was given to the MLP G1 Takara ponies, since they never really got any sort of series or long term toy release in Japan? Especially since anime now is so mainstream… How would you guys feel if the Takaras were given a full blown anime in modern times? Would the toys that accompany them sell well? Would they get a full blown redesign?
What sort of things would you like to see for modern day Takara ponies?
 
I’m not a huge fan of the takara ponies. They are super cute, but they don’t make me think ‘that’s a pony’. If they did a modern anime, it might work.
 
I'd love to see a cute liddle Takara anime, like aggretsuko or Chi's sweet home or something :hearteyes:

(Really? I’ve been gushing about the Takaras here as MLP’s since forever) yeahhhh, basically Hasbro did some license trading where they looked at Japan and picked up Transformers from Tomy, and Tomy picked up mlp with their own stylized version, and only picked them in their home country- and eventually Hasbro acquired the Transformers license and just forgot about their own Takaras.

I can completely understand your apprehension…it’s true they don’t really look like ponies. I made a super quick doodle of a redesign Takara- maybe if they ever get rereleased, or rebooted, they might look like something similar to this.

I could see that doing well. Also, I think takara ponies are adorable in a Sanrio cute way.
