Its been Every Single G4 so far....

That right there is my biggest issue with the FS ponies. They have such luxurious manes...and then they have these tiny, short tails. They're WAY too short for the body D:

I haven't had many problems with quality in the ponies I've gotten, but some have been iffy... the head/body thing probably bothers me the most.

A thought on the mane vs tail length though: I personally can't help but wonder (since this was an issue in G3 also) if Hasbro's thought process is that the ponies are meant to identify so strongly with (human) girls that they have long "Hair" as in mane (to brush, style, etc) but that the tail is more of an afterthought since humans can't relate to that. When you look at the later G3's and G3.5s, the attention in terms of style was always given to the mane, not the tail.

Also, I'm a little feverish right now, so please pardon if none of that made any sense.

That is an extremely good point.

Also: feel better!

If you put G4s under a blacklight, their heads show up as white and their bodies a different color. I think that the heads are a totally different kind of plastic... they are much harder than the rest of the body.

Just curious...what gave you the idea to look at ponies under a black light?

I'm very concerned with what the head / body mismatch is going to look like in a couple years. I have a bad feeling the color difference is going to get worse and worse. It makes me very reluctant to spend money on G4s (especially at retail price.)

You know I was thinking about this today when I was looking at my Feathermay. She is really bad with mis match head color...worse than anything. Yes it will get worse as aging plastic does all sorts of crazy things. This is why I give up on G4. Hasbro is just going to have to do a better job or I am out. But I love the blind bags and may get some of the boys even if I do have to purchase from the UK...I don't want to take the chance we won't get those here...I love tiny ponies.

I can't help but wonder why know one has sent letters of complaint to the company. I intend to with photos. At least they will know someone isn't happy.

I understood it fine, so either you're not quite as delirious as you think, or my mind naturally speaks feverish. Either way, go get some rest! And, like, chicken soup or something. Though probably not at the same time, I don't think sleeping in your soup is going to help.

Because they're all wondering why no one else has sent letters. ;-) Really though, I'd encourage people to write with the problems they're having, or Hasbro will happily just keep raking in the dough and figure people will buy whatever they toss out, no matter how bad it is.

Thanks Hulk :) Just a head cold, but no fun all the same.

We did that a few years ago at the 07 MD Meet, just to see what would happen. There were some weird results, that's for sure.

I have bigger pics, once I get my external hard drive back up.

ETA: There's a whole thread, actually!

My whole room has black lights in it, so the ponies are almost always under black light.(which makes the mismatched head part more than just annoying.) It has black walls with dayglo paint splatters all over them... and I of course am almost always wearing florescent clothing myself, too. It looks really cool at night. Lol I'm kind of a raver... (I'm 15 tho... so would that be considered a Party Rocker instead? XD):cheshire::icon_smile_lachuh: kind of awkward moment...

I should be able to put up some G4 blacklight pics later... the heads really stand out. :6

Sounds cool. :) I should get a black light for my room. I love glow in the dark stuff, and black lights make them glow great!

Yea that the only way I would recommend collecting this line is to keep it MIB beause the resale value among collectors with this line due to its issues may be quite low..even lower than we are seeing with G3. Never know. Since most of these ponies have flaws of some sort..keeping them in boxes is a way to not know what damage they have. The mismatched head/body color flaw however, can be seen in the package.

However I bet a lot of people will return them if they are sold on ebay due to the flaws and it could be a huge mess for sellers. I am staying out of this line for resale...my mind can only imagine what might happen to these ponies over time.
