Kingsley's gender?

I called Kingsley a boy all my life. Most people I've seen do the same.

But the back card says Kingsley is a girl.

Thoughts?

Whaaaaaaaat? No way! Totally always thought of him as a boy. In fact, he's the one that would marry majesty when they'd have a pony wedding in the dream castle when I was a kid. ;)

You know, the same way Barbie would marry Jem because she was so much taller and I didn't have a Ken. :p
 
Very hirsute if Kingsley is a girl. KINGsley, not Queensley. Err, stopping now.

I think they just used to everybody being a girl.I doubt that even in magic lands female lions are maned (unless they are manticores)
 
Well, on MLPA the theory was raised that Kingsley could be transgendered one way or the other o: What do you think about that?
 
I think that they are overthinking it.And I found the fact someone have that idea awful.It's toys,people.
 
I think Hasbro misjudged their market a bit... not realising little girls also dream of marriage! And then pretend their ponies are getting married. :p
On the other hand, packaging errors are waaaaaay to common! There are some HUGE mistakes on things like DVDs, CDs and even promotional posters and TV ads.

Well, now, why is that idea terrible? I consider some of my G3s trans (both ways) or cismale because there were no boys in that gen. Why is that a problem?

I rather like the idea of Kingsley being othergendered.

I think it would be interesting if he were trans, trans kids may feel supported c:

I'm honestly already offended. I agree that I personally don't think Dash is a lesbian, but I don't care what headcanons others have. Granted, some of the brony reasoning for it IS bigoted and misinformed, but for others it's an honest, innocent interpretation, and no one has any right to declare the mere thought 'terrible'.

As for Kingsley, the card says 'she' where most see a male body. I don't see any reason she couldn't be transgendered. I'm on a 3DS and so cannot view the previous posts, but someone remarked that she could be a shoutout to our trans kin, and I love that idea. Granted, I would opt for FtM for their sheer underrepresentation, but Kingsley appears to be MtF.

And dear, I don't give two figs if queers like myself disgust you. Keep that to yourself. Cisheteros have PLENTY of representation out there. It won't hurt you none if the minority gets a little. c:
 
I like the idea of Kingsley being genderqueer, if that is the term I'm trying for. I don't get why that would be "terrible." Transexual people aren't "terrible", nor is there something inherently "less innocent" about them compared to other people.

As for Hasbro . . . if we treated G1 canon strictly as The Law, the world would be a poorer and more generic place. We were always the ones who breathed life into our pony herds, not Hasbro.
 
Random story from my childhood: When I was little, I had a big plush lion, Leonie. To me, she was a girl, even though she had a mane. Sometime later, I got a plush lion without a man, and naturally, he became Leonie's husband, Leon. When I played zoo, I put a little sign next to the lions' "cage", pointing out that this was a paticular breed of lion in which the females have got the mane.

Maybe the same goes for Kingsley. Not that I'd mind either way.

Am I the only girl that didn't have Ponies married/involved with each other? I even had Salty for all of the ladies but my Ponies were always on their own - in fact, they seldom interacted with each other.

I am kind of a loner, though, so that may have something to do with it.
 
As a kid, most of my baby ponies had boyfriend/girlfriends but i never really did it to the older ones. Although most of my 'boy' ponies were actually girls in the canon line of things lol.

As for Kingsley, he's definately a boy lol. I mean KINGsley and he has a mane :) He's just a very effeminate looking boy :)
