Looking for selling tips

Being new to the community, I'm looking for some advice on the best way to sell my collection.

I have upwards of 80 G1 ponies in various conditions (the So Softs are disgusting!) but I curious what the most successful way to sell all of them might be. Auction as a huge lot? Smaller groups? Does it depend entirely on the ponies? (I know I will probably sell Mimic solo). I feel like individual auction wouldn't be worth the shipping but maybe I don't know how/easiest way to ship.

I would be interested in selling them here too but I understand known sellers are key.

Anyway, I'd love any tips/advice I can get.

Thanks!

I would separate your ponies according to release sets, separating out the HTF ones (like Mimic) and selling those separately. Be honest about the ponies condition and take/show the best photo's you can take. Success in an auction can vary, on one hand you could get lucky and have a couple of bidders get into a war over a lot they are bidding on and they could go quite high, but then you may end up not raising very much at all if no-one bids.

I agree with @Rhubarb Pie that splitting into "type" lots may be your best course of action while selling the HTF ones separate. If time is an issue for you (ie. you just want to get it done as fast as possible) you could do it just as one big lot. They have been doing pretty well on ebay lately, especially if there is one or two HTF ponies mixed in. People seem to get fixated on one pony in the lot (usually Mimic) and will bid much higher than they normally would just to get her and figure the other ponies make it worth it. That way you don't get stuck with a few less desirable/poor condition ponies lurking around that you can't seem to sell off because no one wants to pay the shipping for them.

As for selling them on here, yes references are desirable for our own protection but there are plenty of us around who are willing to take a chance on a new seller if the price is decent. Most of us understand that someone has to give you a chance in order for you to prove that you are legitimate. We are a pretty fair bunch so, if you are willing to be more patient and involved than you would have to be on ebay, give us a chance. You may be pleasantly surprised.

Either way, good luck to you

Yep yep like everypony already said ;). Depending on pony it is either better sell separately or in lots.
If you want to get rid of your ponies fast selling them in lots is more faster than selling them separately.

I really do not myself mind if seller hasn't have feedback in the forum. I do not have very much either ;). I still do trust in people so do give them chance too that doesn't have feedback yet. :)

It all depends on how much time you want to invest in it. To get the most money, cleaned, styled and nice pictures of each pony and sell them individually or in groups by type but that requires the most effort on your part not even taking into account all the packages you will have to ship that way too. If you don't want to put that much effort into it than I would probably do it in a lot. Less you have to ship and less time putting up multiple auctions. Most people don't bother with "pretty-ing" them up either in such large lots but that's up to you. The difference in sales you'd make doing it one way vs the other might not be worth the time you'd have to invest but alot of it just depends on the way the wind is blowing. Pony sales can sometimes be very varied. I personally don't mind spending a little extra on a large lot if it has a majority of ponies I need cause I tell myself I can recoup some of the costs by reselling the ones I have doubles of but that's just me.
