G1 Manes

Question which hopefully I can get an answer to relatively quickly.

When the G1's were first made, were their manes all one length or did some have shorter plugs at the front?

Some have fringes/bangs.

But most have the same length on her mane, mostly later years of G1s.

The unicorns didn't have forelocks (aka bangs) and a few other specific types (such as flutter ponies and brush n grows) didn't either but other than that almost all of the G1s up until year 8 did have them. After that there were still some with them but it started to be more common for them to have all one length.

So would you say surprise and cherry sweet would have bangs?

Surprise does have bangs. Cherry Sweet (The U.K. cookery pony, right?) doesn't look like she does in the pictures I am seeing.

Agreed - if you do mean Cherry Sweet the international cookery pony, she came pretty late in the line so she doesn't have them. There is a Sweetberry pony with a similar name (Cherry Treats) and she does have them.
