I don't know if this goes here or not so feel free to move it. :D

Me dear friend got me a load of ponies from a garage sale and the only one I recognized right away was a mimic. I know it is rare so I don't want to customize it. It isn't in terrible shape and could be restored, but I don't think I am that talented just yet. What should I do with it? I'll post pics tomorrow, I am about to go to bed.

Clean her up with soap and water first to better gauge her condition. If you'd like to restore her but don't feel capable of doing so yourself, you could commission someone to do it for you. Or you could sell her to someone who'd either be happy with her the way she is or would restore her. Then put that money toward a Mimic in better condition. Mimic pops up pretty frequently for sale.

I think I would like to keep her, she's not in too bad of shape so she will probably sit for a while. I just can't believe she fell into my lap when she is so rare. I am pretty excited about having one, even if I can't customize it. :D

Yeah got a bag of 7 ponies from my friend and was digging through I just about freaked out when saw her. Her other symbol is in awesome shape and I might get courage to retouch them someday, I will probably re-hair her tail when I get the tool from DH, the main is in good shape just needs a little taming. The pink in her mane is pretty faded but you can still tell it's pink.

Honestly she doesn't look that bad to me. Like the others said, attack her with soap, water, and a little light scrubbing, then put hair conditioner in, brush it out, and rinse and let her dry and she should look worlds better. Don't even consider rehairing her until you've tried conditioning it, and I've also heard of a boiling technique that may work it it ends up being too frizzy.

Her mane doesn't look too bad, it's her tail I am worried about, it's pretty tangled and frizzy. Is there a way I can straighten her hair?

She's in good shape! Definitely don't customize her! :D

If you haven't had much experience with fixing up or restoring ponies, I wouldn't recommend trying to do anything to her. Are you wanting to sell her, or have her fixed up so you can keep her?

If you're selling, I'd sell just as-is. She looks gorgeous just the way she is, honestly.

If you want to keep her - I'd recommend having someone experienced fix her up for you.

Don't worry I have no intentions of customizing her. :D Since I know how rare she is I would love to keep her, she doesn't need much work and I think I could do the cleaning up myself, it's the touching up the cutie mark I would be a little anxious about.

She looks so cute :cheshire:, I think she needs a little soap and water too ;)
