$ Price Check $ mimic

Honest Warning to Rhettd27 ::

RHETTD27:

Seriously... if you are having doubts about selling your collection,
especially Mimic... DONT DO IT!!

I made the SAME mistake last year - selling my only Mimic.
Trust me - its a Real Pain trying to get her back.

I know this is old but I stumbled on it when I did a google search for mimic pricing. I don't want to sell but I would like to know how much it is worth. I had a friend of mine keeping an eye out for ponies at garage sales last summer and she got me a dozen or so ponies and in the bunch was mimic (insanely cheap too, but I got it free :) ), great condition. I nearly died when I saw her in the bag because I knew she was rare. I also love the idea of a Mimic club. We could get together at Cons and take our pic with our Mimics. lol

I think Mimic is raising in value, yesterday she went for $123.
I dont think we'll see a Mimic in VG/Mint condition go for under $100
these days.
I wish I had her >_< the only Twinkle Eye missing in collection right now.

I would say if you have a collector who is selling at $90 here on the TP, you are likely getting a fair deal. She's not going to be one of those ponies you brag about getting super cheap, but you also don't have to run the risk of her being in terrible condition with surprises like cancer, smooze, bites, small haircuts and things like that. $60 ebay finds are not always as good as you hope.

And in regards to rareness - Mimic isn't rare. She is more desired because she was the star of a 4 part series. I think Bright Eyes is just as hard to find. Mimic is one that I will never add to my collection again simply because I refuse to pay so much more than the other ponies in her series. I'm sure there are a lot of people who love her colors, but she just never impressed me in person. I think she may have been one of the nicest ponies in my childhood collection for that very reason, I just didn't like her looks.
