MLP Gameloft Game tips and problems

How does the social part of it worked? I was looking at it but I'm not sure where I can find my screen name?

You can hook it up to your Facebook account and do it that way, or with a Gameloft ID. You need to create an account, where you pick out your username. Then you can share that with other people to add you.

Also, Rainbow Dash was back up to her ridiculously high price, or maybe she never went down for me? I'm still getting the pop up for the gem sale, though.

You gotta be kidding me...-oh she's still the same price for me *relief* I'm awfully worried that will end after their thanksgiving sale ends...I'm busy with a project and I don't have time to cheat for all those gems.. =_=
Obviously that's where buying comes in...>>

EDIT: Did anyone else notice that "earn free gems" list on the gem page? Or is that new as of today? Well anyway I checked it out, as that way has always been my source of earning some money required item usually, and their "free gems" are also not free. Anything worth more than 1 or two requires credit card information, spending money on another site or paying for subscriptions. I even tried one and much to my displeasure, like their social system it didn't work...do let me know if anyone is able to make one of them work

Wouldn't it be a great sales promotion if Hasbro brought back the horseshoe points/pony points electronically? like codes to use for bits in the game? They could put bits in every package or blind bag or trading card pack.

That wouldn't happen. Hasbro gave Gameloft licensing rights to make this game; Hasbro doesn't make a penny off of in-app purchases. The point for loyalty programs such as pony points is to get people to buy more than they would have otherwise for some perceived exclusive reward.

For that system to work, Hasbro would have to be giving Gameloft money for the points redeemed, or Gameloft would be doing it out of the kindness of their own heart. We already know that they're inexcusably greedy, so that won't happen.

My GL Live name is dizzydava, if anyone wants to add me. I send gifts daily! :D

I'm just dorky enough that I've been working out a chart of how many bits each shop produces per minute, and which ones are worth having a third employee. Yeah...
Oh man, I'd given up on the app, but if I can get gifts from the creator of Kimono's Townhouse, it might just be worth it...

Off topic here for a moment~
WHAT KIMONOS TOWNHOUSE OMG HELLO THERE *fangirl moment* I practically grew up on your comics ! Since I had my old windows 98 computer in 1st grade and discovered in through a link on the ring of rainbows or something!
AHH I still read them too ! This is exciting!

Repeat Spenders

Not necessarily. Game's been out for a week, and how many of us are "hooked" enough to spend money on this?

These companies also don't make their profits off of people spending only $5 once or twice. They make their profits off of the heavy users who spend hundreds upon hundreds of dollars on these games.

The game sort of shoves the YOU NEED TO PAY in your face, which is only going to turn people away. And this game is for children, remember. Are they going to want to keep playing if their parents won't buy them the gems they need to continue playing?

I would gladly spend $ if the game worked consistently for Gameloft Live and Facebook. As it is, I don't want to spend money because I don't feel I can trust their internet connection reliability/security. It's not about cost its about value, that is, does what I pay for WORK? If it does, I'll keep paying. But currently it doesn't, so I won't pay for it. I actually share my MLP iOS game with my two kids, so between the three of us we play it A LOT!

Quests to Make a Pony Come to Ponyville

I am currently completing quests to entice Rarity back to Ponyville. If/when I complete said quests, do I obtain her free of bits? Or will I still have to purchase her in the Pony Store?

Thank you!

The quest text tells you that "bring her back" to ponyville, but you still have to buy the pony with bits/gems. With Rarity, it's gems.

You can buy her earlier, so when the buy Rarirty quest pops up, it's already completed and will play the Rarity's back dialogue.

Great thread, though not everything applies to me - I play on the iPhone 4S, USERNAME: Sunnybrook1 of course ~

While I agree many aspects to this game are money-hungry, compared to other free games, I still enjoy a little dose of Equestria on my work breaks. And I for one am GLAD it takes so long to build everything up, for me it means the fun can last that much longer - I only worry about my game data, I hope my iTunes backup is saving it. And are there any other mini games besides ball tossing, apple catching, and flying?

Those are the only minigames.

Also, iTunes backup? Your data is only stored on the phone, as far as I know, so if you have to reinstall the game, it's all gone.

You guys can add me. My Gameloft username is...wait for it....darcerin! (without the !) :)

When I visit a specific friend's town and wait about 10 seconds all kinds of element shards, coins, and even gems rush up from nowhere! Although, it doesn't happen with other friends. Is this a normal thing for others, or just a glitch? I really enjoy it, but I hope I'm not stealing these goodies from this person.
