So out of boredom I did a google search for My Little Pony stuff, and I found this.

Pound Puppies/MLP cross??? I must admit, that's quite...interesting.

Thats odd for the dog but I'm sure fun for its human. LOL
 
It's called "creative grooming" or something like that, and yes, Bichons and white poodles are the canvases of choice. I watched something on it and apparently it is all non-toxic, food coloring type dye so does not hurt the dog.

...and my husband thinks I'm silly for wanting to paint my girl pittie's nails!

You've got it. These dogs were more than likely groomed for competition; do a Google search for "creative dog grooming" to see some of the amazing artwork. Dyes are indeed non-toxic and many of the dogs seem to love the attention they get - both during grooming and the "oohs" and "ahs" they get afterward. :)
 
I'd say poor dogs but they look so adorable I just have to laugh!
