I'm I really the only one who is going to bring up the MLP comment made on the Christmas Dr Who special?! I know there are some other Whovians here. I squealed and clapped cause I just knew he was going to say, My Little Pony when he said "those 3 words", I just knew it and actually said, "My Little Pony" at the same time and squealed in delight cause I was right!! My husband just laughed at me.
 
We just went and found the snippet on youtube! The entire context was therefore lost to us, but how awesome!

My husband is the Whovian of the house and about a year behind on episodes, so it will be a while before he tells me he's watching the 2014 Christmas special.
 
I totally caught that too! I laughed so hard just because. It was a good episode.
 
I'm behind on my watching (which is a first for The Doctor and I, I hadn't missed an epi since I started watching Tom Baker a bazillion years ago). I'll HAVE to catch up now!
 
It was very unexpected for me. I was lying in bed watching the Christmas special with my boyfriend. I laughed when he said "My Little Pony", and my boyfriend just turned and gave me this look. :p

 
It was awesome. I'll admit that it was spoiled for me because I saw the thread on the Arena before I saw the episode, but it was still funny.

I was watching it with my sister and we both burst out laughing. If I were in that situation, Santa probably would have said that to me :)
The episode overall was great, and the pony reference was certainly an added bonus!
 
I saw that too on the Christmas episode. I loved it!
 
I have three words for you.... don't make me use them: "My Little Pony!"

I think that's their little dig at the pony community for G4's Dr. Whooves character.... or at least I want to think so! I loved it!!!!!!

Just a warning from a hardcore DW fan.... you're not missing much. The writing was unusually dreadful this season. :( But the Christmas Special was good.

Oh that's sad. Which explains, after watching the first two, I wasn't terribly excited to get to the rest. Sometimes you can hardly stand the 7 day wait, ya know? Hope the DVR caught the Christmas special!
 
I've noticed a slip in his scripts for a while now. I thought it was just me being picky. Glad to see others felt the same.

I do sometimes so miss the wacky days of Baker and Davis.
 
I watched some of his older ones over Christmas (see the Tennant years) from when my friend from out west got me back into the show and we used to get really super excited when he'd write for the show (Blink, Forest of the Dead/Silence in the library, etc.), and was really sad. I miss those episodes. Too much of a good thing, obviously. DW needs new blood.
