Over Christmas I saw my mom and she brought some photo albums with her. We spent some time looking at photos and I found this gem!

That is me (not sure how old) playing with my ponies! Yes, those are variants, too! I still have all the ponies I had from my childhood as well as the nursery. This photo made me smile a ton so I thought I'd share it with you.

Do you have any photos of yourself with your childhood ponies?

That is so cool! Right-on! Awww..such a nice photo!

I love your '80s style PT! And you look so happy with your ponies <3

I'm sure I've shared these before; but here's some pics of little me:

Apparently my mom was a fan of the side ponytail :p

I only have this one photo from some Christmas morning, though I did get a few more ponies for gifts in my lifetime. This was probably the last pony I got as a gift till I started collecting, I can't remember anymore after her.

BTW, that's DnP Prancer in the photo and I'm holding a Baby Bubbles doll. Also, to this day I will not ever get bangs again! hehe!

Sadly i have no pictures with ponies, because my mom bought a camera who didn't make real photo's but when she take them to the photo booth she got them back like framed cells and you have to have a projector with a big screen to watch them! So we did have nice cosy photo look days in the winter, but sadly i have no copies of them...

Aw man, I wish I was a 80s kid~! Sadly I never really grew up around ponies, and only started collecting at 14, last year

And @Lady Arachnia, that's so awesome! So a bit like magic lanterns?
You don't have to be an 80s kid to have a pic with ponies!

I'm loving every pic. Sadly, I must admit I don't collect since my daughter owns them all. Kind of Pokemon, you have to collect them all! @~@
Plus, I didn't had nearly any ponies back then. Shame on me. I missed out in life lol

Oh I LOVE these threads!
Such cute Pony pictures!
i have two I want to share. In both I would say I am about 5 or 6.
The first is a Christmas picture of all the gifts that year, I think. My mom used to do that when I was little.
The next is at my birthday at my grandmother's house either before or after the Christmas one.
The Birthday one was just a setup for all my friends to play with our ponies. hehe

Judging by all the So Soft's I am definitely 5 or 6. I was born the year MLP came out so, yeah, closer to six.

@ Embers Dream Yes i think you can associate it with that! But then on a big screen we have to set up!

I shall search on Google for a picture of the system! ;)
*edit to add a picture of the system!*

Wow, I LOVE seeing all these childhood pictures. They just warm my heart. :ponylove: Plus, holy frakballs the 80s weren't just a figment of the collective imagination, they actually existed!! LE GASP!!!

I really do wonder what was it like to hold a G1 pony at the age of 4, 5, heck, all the way until 11-12. I've gotten my first one going on 4 years now, and I still can't get over how large they are. They really do seem like they could be a kid's best friend... They're certainly easier to carry than a Barbie, in the very least!

Unfortunately I don't have any pictures to show. The only ones I could have are from a vacation I went on when I was 10 (in the year 1998, to be precise), and my cousin happened to have bought a G2 Ivy around that time. And as the pictures showed, I spent most of that vacation holding her. And taking her to the water... Sea water, that is. I have no idea what state her hair got left in after that. Anyway, I think we have the negatives somewhere, but the pictures from that vacation, as far as I know, were never developed.
Which is a shame. My Mom keeps telling me I never actually showed an interest in ponies, which is why nobody ever got me any (outside Petites, but I was like 3 at that time), and those would be excellent evidence to the contrary.

Also, this is all reminding me of how I used to envy kids who had room for fancy playsets at home. :p You lucky sons of a gun, you!
